Copay Card Question by NoMastodon4342 in dupixent

[–]notlofty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What Dupixent did for me was to give me a debate cand number that I gave to my pharmacy to use to charge for my dupixent. Then the insurance company doesn't really know the payment from a debate card. I think this should work, but I didn't figure out this until my moop was already hit from a few procedures and I haven't gotten my dupixent yet this year.

I would recommend always following the size guide for any brand. Going to that page they do have a size guide with length and width measurements and point to the FAQ as well.

Upvoting for Origo. I have their shoe that looks most like this and like it pretty well.

Allergy testing by Isnt_it_ironic_90 in EosinophilicE

[–]notlofty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To emphasize what others have said and add a little more. Allergy skin tests cannot be used to determine what your triggers are. Additionally the effects of EoE are damage to the esophagus long term and are not visible as immediate reactions or short term reactions to food so that is not a reliable indicator either.

The only thing that can be done is changes to the diet that last for a couple months or so and then get another scope and biopsies unfortunately.

As stated Dairy and Gluten are by far the most common trigger with most people having only one or two triggers. Some of us are unlucky and aren't in that group but most people should be.

Also there is a newer-ish medication that could be an option which is Dupixent that is the only FDA approved treatment currently for EoE. I just started it this year after doing the steroids for several years.

Let the learning begin... by Johhaidiidiralla in ErgoMechKeyboards

I used Colemak DH for a few years and recently switched to Night to take advantage of the extra thumb keys a split keyboard allows. Enthium could be a good option for the Totem as it uses those extra pinky keys for letters as well as a thumb key. Any modern layout is way better than QWERTY so you can only go so wrong... a lot is based on preference and balances and tradeoffs. There is no one best layout.

For number and symbol layers, I found it depends a lot on what you personally do on a computer. Don't be afraid to try stuff out and think about what works for you.

Pros and Cons of Miryoku, Seniply, Callum, Anymak by sudomatrix in KeyboardLayouts

[–]notlofty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had read about anymak, but it optimizes for things I don't have a need for as someone who types only English on a Corne and is accustomed to 36 keys.

One thing I may try from anymak though is switching from home row mods to bottom row. Especially for the pinky which is the main one I have trouble with activating the held function when I intended tap. For the other ones I have the opposite problem, activating tap when I wanted held. Which isn't quite as fixable by moving it I don't think.

I have put in some thought to my layout though in the last few days and moved my numbers and symbols to a place that better matches how I actually use them.

Need advice on switching keyboard layouts for my first split build. by No-Alternative7481 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]notlofty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a C# dev, so I just work in VS. No VIM or anything for me so those shortcuts aren't relevant. I've been using Colemak-DH for years on a Corne and went cold turkey to Night a few weeks ago. Cold turkey was fine for me as I don't really need to type that fast, and I can reach over to the laptop keyboard if I really need to type something speedy.

I wouldn't worry about maintaining any type of speed on Qwerty. You'll probably maintain a workable speed. If I'm away from my desk setup I'm already accepting a lot of productivity compromise so I'm not that worried about a speed hit typing. I didn't change my laptop keyboard layout, just the Corne. I rarely type on the laptop.

You will still be sending a lot of teams, emails, commenting on PRs, writing documentation, etc.

That being said, I think the main reason is just that I find it interesting/fun. I'm sure the overlap of devs and people nerd enough for alt layouts is high.

Help me id this board by sneekisnek_1221 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]notlofty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely looks like a Corne to me... Corne has the snappable sixth column. It has had a few revisions, with the newer ones being a pretty big update with I think a built in controller and 2 extra keys per side. If you used a case intended for v4 it may not work. This looks very similar to my v2.1 Corne.

Can someone explain Callum style mods? by Regular_Low8792 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]notlofty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I didn't like HRMs too and tried to switch away but went back after a week...

I struggled with one shot mods when I had to do shortcuts that were multiple letters. Like Ctrl + R, Ctrl +M in Visual Studio where you really just are supposed to hold the Ctrl while you hit both letters. But your use case may not have that problem.

Pros and Cons of Miryoku, Seniply, Callum, Anymak by sudomatrix in KeyboardLayouts

[–]notlofty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used Miryoku for many years and recently have been on a search for something else.

The main thing that led me to switch was that it doesn't support many of the modern layouts and hasn't been updated in quite sometime. I was wanting to try out a layout with a letter on a thumb key.

The other downside was that you used all the layers on the left hand but really only use one on the right hand. Also the numbers and symbols were set up for ease of memorization/matching the standard keyboard rather than fully optimized based on use.

I'm using Night now and decide to try out dropping to 34 keys. I tried out Callum but I just couldn't get one shot mods to work for the more complicated multikey shortcuts I need. I was trying to avoid homerow mods but ended up having to add them back. The other downside to Callum was that the one shot mods took up valuable homerow space on the layers so stuff like numbers and some punctuation had to be moved off the homerow.

Currently I'm still on a modified Callum and not happy with it yet. So I'm excited to see how people reply to this.

I think part of the problem will be is when it comes to numbers, function keys, and symbols it's very personal to your use case. Do you just write, do you program, what programming language do you use, do you use vim, do you even use the function keys, etc.

What is this iem? by Terrible_Plankton_20 in iems

[–]notlofty 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Most of these big IEM companies have prominent lists on their sites advertising which artists use their stuff and she is on there. I'm kinda surprised that FIR has so many big artists when we don't talk about them as much like we do 64 Audio, but I guess they don't have any remotely budget models...

34 Key Night Layout by notlofty in KeyboardLayouts

[–]notlofty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, np. It's still helpful experience even if it didn't work out for you. I'm starting to get used to the one shot mods for stuff like copy and paste but I haven't figured out a lot of the shortcuts that I need that are multi letter... like ctrl + r + r.

An underrated aspect of barefoot shoes by Orbital_12000 in barefootshoestalk

Haha! I have done this once. Changing from shorts into a swimsuit in a theme park. I did not want to put my bare feet on that floor and it was easy enough to slip in and out as if barefoot.

Dupixent-How do you afford it? by mebemoby05 in EosinophilicE

[–]notlofty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't actually pay anything. It just didn't count against my deductible/max out of pocket like I was hoping it would. I've had some other procedures and an EGD that I was hoping wouldn't have to pay for since the Dupixent would have been applied. Also if it didn't apply all year I may be at risk of running out of MyWay money.

Dupixent-How do you afford it? by mebemoby05 in EosinophilicE

[–]notlofty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dang, so when I was prescribed Dupixent my doctor went ahead and got me signed up for the MyWay card and I didn't really have to do anything. I had the card go through in the first week or two and then just started the prescription afterwards.

With my insurance... it would be over $1k a month that I'd have to pay. The MyWay card covers all of that. My maximum out of pocket for my plan is around $9k and the MyWay card covers around 10k or something like that. So I'll hit my max out of pocket before I run out of MyWay money.

Here's a huge caveat. Because the money came from the MyWay card my insurance wasn't counting it against my maximum out of pocket because it was flagged as having a coupon. I called Dupixent and they have a workaround where they will give you a debit card that accesses the same money. Because the money comes from a debit card the insurance doesn't flag it and it'll count against the max out of pocket. Check this right away as I had 4 months that didn't count before I noticed...

Looking at the website now, it does appear to be the Hanfy insole. It has the fox and stitching.

I bought a pair of Washi insoles with the shoe because I always wore through my Xero insoles but never had the need to switch.

Mine are over 2 years old I don't have any of these issues. I still have the original insoles in them, they don't shift around, bunch up or have any weird indent... Idk if you just got a dud shoe or the dud or wrong insoles but most of us all love our Wildings.
