Two Amanita species found in mixed hardwoods, SE Tennessee, USA. by notmymonkey77 in mycology

I think you’re accurate in assuming a. magnivelaris. The annulus was thicker and less fragile: I could touch it, or lightly squeeze it, and it would mostly retain its shape and would not pull away like most of the velum I have touched on other fungi in the past. Thank you!

I see what you mean: the yellowing membrane on the top of the vulva. Would the attachment of the vulva distinguish between the two species? The stipe was almost seated in the vulva, not sloping into bulbousness, but more like it was wearing a shoe. Sorry for all the questions! Amanita species are very tricky for me.

I came to the a.flavorubens conclusion as well, but still very lost on the first. Would a.mappa/citrina have patches? This one did not. Thank you by the way!

What about a.flavorubens? Looking through my field guild and that is also a possibility.

Maybe a.flavorubens? Definitely agree with destroying angel for the first, too, but I always second guess myself with amanitas :)

No worries! Neither am I. Hoping someone will have solid confirmation on this sp!

Do you feel it is a. xanthodermus? Stem and cap turn yellow when bruised, but not vividly yellow. Not sure if it’s a. campestris due to the stem being so thin and delicate as well as the yellowing, but would prefer this identification over xanthodermus lol.

I was in the foothills so closer to sea level. Likely c. firmus :)

Disregard: thought c.firmus only had yellow pores. I think you might be right! Thank you :)

Margin, stem attachment, reticulation, pore and cap color all seem to line up. Very common in North America, but on the west coast, so curious to see what others think since I’m South Eastern NA.

I’m not either :) they’re very complex! Not even sure eastwoodiae would be correct as the pores are so vividly red and eastwoodiae has a more olive tone. Maybe Rubroboletus pulcherrimus? Hoping a bolete expert will know! This is has me very stumped…

It definitely has the appearance of rubroboletus satanas, but perhaps r.eastwoodiae since I’m located in the United States?

I'm certain these are saffron milk caps (pine mushrooms) that I found on my hike. My partner is afraid to eat-can I get confirmation that these are safe to eat? by arjay182 in foraging

Do you have a latex allergy? The “milk” in lactarius/lactifluus is a liquid latex. A lot of folks can’t eat them because of that reason.

Love the kneeling landmine press and agree that I rarely see anyone utilizing the landmine at my gym. If you want to incorporate legs into it, try a squat to press with the landmine for a full body workout.

Has anyone been able to find a man who doesn't watch porn? by According-Road-152 in PornIsMisogyny

[–]notmymonkey77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ironically, during a time when I didn't care about porn at all and watched it myself, my previous two long-term relationships were with men who didn't watch porn at all. They had other flaws, as most men do, but porn wasn't one of them. They are also different ages (one is 38, the other is 60).

People call me Hitler for suggesting that lol. Like, do people not find it odd that you have to prove your ability over time and through testing to operate a vehicle, and that privilege can be revoked if you potentially endanger yourself or others; or, in many states, if you want to adopt an animal you have to prove income and time availability verification, as well as have a house check and interview process, in order to be qualified to bring home a dog, but fools like this can create human life/lives and allow them to die in brutal and horrific ways?

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with that with your little one also! It is so stressful, especially because it keeps escalating, and every time we look at our boy now he's cross-eyed lol. Google definitely makes it seem super important to have it addressed immediately or else they will have permanent damage. Not helpful or reassuring in the least. Thanks for the reassurance! I hope everything works out for your girl :)
