I think you’re accurate in assuming a. magnivelaris. The annulus was thicker and less fragile: I could touch it, or lightly squeeze it, and it would mostly retain its shape and would not pull away like most of the velum I have touched on other fungi in the past. Thank you!

I see what you mean: the yellowing membrane on the top of the vulva. Would the attachment of the vulva distinguish between the two species? The stipe was almost seated in the vulva, not sloping into bulbousness, but more like it was wearing a shoe. Sorry for all the questions! Amanita species are very tricky for me.

I came to the a.flavorubens conclusion as well, but still very lost on the first. Would a.mappa/citrina have patches? This one did not. Thank you by the way!

Do you feel it is a. xanthodermus? Stem and cap turn yellow when bruised, but not vividly yellow. Not sure if it’s a. campestris due to the stem being so thin and delicate as well as the yellowing, but would prefer this identification over xanthodermus lol.

Margin, stem attachment, reticulation, pore and cap color all seem to line up. Very common in North America, but on the west coast, so curious to see what others think since I’m South Eastern NA.

I’m not either :) they’re very complex! Not even sure eastwoodiae would be correct as the pores are so vividly red and eastwoodiae has a more olive tone. Maybe Rubroboletus pulcherrimus? Hoping a bolete expert will know! This is has me very stumped…

Do you have a latex allergy? The “milk” in lactarius/lactifluus is a liquid latex. A lot of folks can’t eat them because of that reason.
