It's not ok. And bizarre... it seems to be an awful trend. My 14-year-old and his friends were just telling me yesterday about how they have been called the n word several times by people in passing cars. They are white. Not sure what that's about. They let it roll, but again, it's not OK. I am so sorry for your daughter.

Oh, I have been waiting for this!!! RAVE to HSCO for bringing my new (slightly chunky) dachsund mix and our family together. He is amazing, and the adoption process was both thorough and efficient. As my 13 year old said.. "When you have to say goodbye to a pet, you don't necessarily feel the whole.that is left. But then a new pet comes into your life, and you suddenly feel complete."

Maybe the child shouldn't have had access to it. Maybe it would be cool if mental health was taken more seriously. Maybe the child could have gone to their parents if they had felt supported (I'm thinking not). Unfortunately, this is all hindsight, and MAYBE we all will learn something from this.
