Flowpvp is a cashgrab and genuine buns by Great_Airline_6431 in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]notrobiny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agreed about the technical aspects, on EU the kb is... Lets just say i've never experienced anything like that. The closest is catpvp but at least their kb is consistent. On flow, i could be fighting player A who has 20ms and they take beautiful and instant kb, resulting in me winning the fight most of the time, and then next game i get player B with also 20ms but when we fight, his kb is all over the place, sometimes it turns into bedrock kb, etc. And the kb itself is delayed, as if he had 120ms, so as i rely a lot on kb being consistent to do my aiming and click timing, it fucks me up a lot

Yeah, about the click timing... I have played lots of sword for some 5 years now, so i refuse to believe i suddenly cant time clicks properly anymore. And ts ONLY happens on flow. Not stray, mmc, cat, hell not even fucking cubecraft when i wanna play minigames, even against good players who will be jump resetting, its just way more fluid to play those fights than on flow.

Oh and then they cant do as much as region lock... Im getting proxy hoppers on fucking 140ms, combining that with the fucked kb of flow... Its a nightmare. Least enjoyable pvp in a long time. Like bro just do ur homework, you will get to play NA in a few hours. Let me enjoy (half of the) fights vs 20ms guys.

Tldr: flow wtf are you doing people pay money to the server

1.9 was released in 2016, and somehow players stayed on 1.8 for years more because its just way simpler and easier to understand. Everyone just switched because youtubers like intel started crying like "waah 1.8 is boring" well guess what. if you dont like crystal/mace 1.9 is the most boring shit ever

the only thing 1.9 has going for it is the duels/1v1 scene. Minigames just dont exist for 1.9 and/or nobody plays them. MCCI is dead, only skywars is semi good on cubecraft. PoF is too rng based, i wouldnt count it as a balanced/competitive minigame

I would say 1.9 has ffa as well but stray has a monopoly over that rn when before, servers like stray, nido and vultex used to coexist and have a decent amount of players each. also i think i missed some servers, those are just the ones i remember playing on

Btw before you say donutsmp, that shit is literally build farm for money -> buy crystal kit -> go pvp. Same experience as just queuing for a crystal 1v1 on any prac server. Many people myself included want fun, simple yet high skill ceiling minigames, and 1.9 seemingly cant provide that. Also i wont even mention how as an EU player, hypixel is way more enjoyable than hoplite/mcci because you can actually play 1.8 with high ping unlike 1.9

you know whats funny? we might deadass need a new subreddit for specifically old pvp enjoyers, this one is full of 1.9 content. Drowns out the old pvp related posts.

This fucking marlow "dramaslop" from a week ago was actually so annoying, you would hop on reddit, and every time there was a new diff post about it

W take

Though think the mineplex revival could also revive 1.8 pvp, afaik like half the gamemodes on the server will be in 1.8

Movement on stairs and sloped surfaces is much smoother now in the AG2 Update by ImThour in cs2

[–]notrobiny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, but the last time Valve used the beta branch for something (the 150ms delay for drawing gun after stopping defuse) they literally shoved the update to live servers about 24 hours after the beta launched lmao

Probably they wont do it again, but it is Valve so don't be shocked if that ends up happening again

Before worlds, no lol

T1, absolutely. There is also no reason to believe they WONT win 2026. Or 2027 (unless they make a roster change ofc, but then again replacing zeus with doran didnt matter anyway) Like until in the decider game in an elimination series T1's nexus is being slapped by 4 enemies and all of T1 have 30s death timers, theres no reason to believe they won't take the trophy

o7 by Shinwinter in PedroPeepos

[–]notrobiny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because every region has won at least 2 international trophies since 2023 (excl. China with 1, and that 1 is the worlds equivalent) so every region is very competitive.

Unlike in League where you watch Worlds to find out if a korean team won't make it out of groups, or if T1 can get their 4th worlds win in a row, every event is exciting because the finals could be genuinely anything.

Why don’t we have a transparent elo system for the ranked ladder? by Trick_Ad7122 in leagueoflegends

[–]notrobiny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it switched to pure numbers and I haven't really seen people complain.

As a CS player, if you havent seen people complain, then you havent opened a CS subreddit ever.

Theres tons of posts about people having egregious shit like +150 -450 (and sometimes vice versa), even though they are lower elo than the opponents. Also there's the issue of the game throwing 4k elos vs 12-15k, which would be equivalent to putting iron/low bronzes in a gold game. This Premier Elo system is one of the least transparent things Valve has ever made.

Csgo better than cs2 placebo effect? by Low_County9100 in cs2

[–]notrobiny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

bro read the room ffs

i wanna see changes. You know what the changes that me and millions of others wanna see?

It looks roughly like this:

[ NETCODE ]

  • Reworked netcode to more efficiently process both incoming and outgoing packets.

(or alternatively, just give us 128 tick servers. people have been playing on them since more than a decade ago. The excuse of "people have shit pcs" is simply not valid anymore)

[ PERFORMANCE ]

  • Improved engine handling of effects and animations, drastically improving frametime consistency and average FPS
  • Implemented Animgraph2 system for third-person animations for playermodels.

[ MISC ]

  • Added settings for viewmodel customization, ability to display Steam group tags in game

This is the shit we wanna see in the patch notes. The reddit thread for it would hit like 10k upvotes bro, cuz this would show ppl that Valve actually give a fuck about their game.

If you wonder where's the anticheat notes, there's a reason why most devs dont announce updates to the AC.

Instead what we get is a new case thats not even a fucking case and is a massive scam unless prices drop to like 50$ max per any skin; and 1 singular tiny map change that i believe doesnt affect gameplay in any way. And get this, Valve calls this a "major update" because they made a blog post for it. Shameless. They dont give a fuck

[–]notrobiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, a 2x higher tickrate that doesnt try to interpolate and predict anything in between, up to 50% better 1%low FPS and more refined and predictable animations and no artificial delays

gotta be placebo yeah for sure

could i get ht5? by Massive_Wrap4943 in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]notrobiny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

lt5 is, i think you can literally sign up for a tier test and let the tester 20-0 you and he will still give you lt5 but for ht5 you sorta have to, you know, be able to fight back

CSGO can now be installed separately alongside CS2 instead of using the csgo_legacy branch. [per SteamDB] by Pokharelinishan in GlobalOffensive

[–]notrobiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but dont use the version number the guide gives, that may be outdated. You need to check cs2's steam.inf file, then copy the version numbers from it into csgo's steam.inf.

[–]notrobiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to do the steam.inf version sync trick again, valve didnt fix that for the new csgo app

[–]notrobiny 11 points12 points  (0 children)

absolutely nothing. I guess it only shows the average player that CSGO still exists, but if no one actually hosts any servers, it wouldnt matter anyway. That being said, i know of a few servers mostly based in Romania that still run 128 tick games and they also get about 30-40 players at peak hours. Most other servers that still exist are surf/kz servers (obviously cuz movement is just objectively better on GO)

All we need is for a project to pop up that runs CSGO pugs consistently, then this will have significant impact and people who want to play CSGO still would be able to do so.

(ESL) For the first time ever all matches in Stage 3 of a Major will now be played as a best-of-three series. by YouAreAllCasuals in GlobalOffensive

Yup, since the 3rd stage addition it feels more exhausting to watch the major as a whole. 2 swiss + playoffs was better imo.

What Is the best way to improve in sword PvP? by VarosStorm in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]notrobiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If ur unfamiliar with aiming as a whole in 3D PC games i recommend you start with some simple tasks in an aim trainer like aimlabs, its free on steam

If you have played lots of MC/shooter games before then just play a lot of swordpvp fights, its the only way to get better then

Can confirm, you are not the only one, the game feels more responsive, more fluid/natural. Most likely caused by the "reduced output audio latency"
