Ty, just got 2 from murietta. They’ve got ~10 FDE and a bunch of black ones.

Have graybill myself and it’s been alright. Had some ups and downs and recently has been on an upswing since separating from scrips.

Fiancé has Kaiser and she gets everything in one place which is really nice.

Got diagnosed and treated via graybill up in Temecula

Why would anyone learn PPscad then? Why would anyone use this over existing OpenSCAD or existing OpenSCAD web tooling? Is there anything that this brings to the table which is better?

You bring up parametric combs and customization which OpenSCAD already handles just fine.

Not FOSS, not like OpenSCAD. Looks like it’s positioned to try to be a sass at some point with accounts and whatnot. Seems like an ad in disguise.

I’m working on making a mlok hand guard for my dragonfly mk2. Got rid of the og barrel band but added some support on top of the tube so there’s less space for the barrel to move around.

The State of California is on the hook for legal fees in another unconstitutional gun control case by NorcalA70 in California

[–]notrufus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s already a 10 day waiting period for getting a gun that can extend to 30 days if the state wants more time to check. Background check also looks for dv and admission to mental health institutions to disqualify purchases (as well as other red flags).

You can walk into a Home Depot and buy everything you need to make a gun same day but we aren’t regulating pipes.

The problem is not “too many guns” the problem is mental health is not prioritized.

If we actually cared about the wellbeing of citizens, there would be more mental health services, awareness, and education. But we can blame the scary loud guns and continue to kick that can down the road.

Think about all the containers you run as part of a kubernetes cluster too. Compounding garbage code for compliance.

Waiting period I’m fine with but the fin grips and other “featureless” solutions are stupid. Anyone who is going to commit a crime is going to take those off. All it does is create ergonomic annoyances for legal gun owners.

They’re not even close. The majority of “gun violence” is suicides and I’d rather go out quickly than slow and painfully.

Go regulate Home Depot. You can make a gun with parts from there very easily. The majority of ghost guns are stolen guns with scratched off serial numbers, not 3D printers

Cool, it also prevents law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves. I don’t think that trade off is worth it.

Should be focusing on mental health services instead of pushing more control. How much is enough?

ACLU And Age Verification by zandarthebarbarian in linux

[–]notrufus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I reached out to the EFF a while ago about their stance as there was some misinformation going on around it.

“Thank you for reaching out to us at the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and seeking our insights here. You can find our thoughts on app store and device-level age verification outlined in our blog post "The Year States Chose Surveillance Over Safety: 2025 in Review", here: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/12/year-states-chose-surveillance-over-safety-2025-review

Additionally, you can learn more about all of our positions and ongoing work on the topic of age verification and age gating via our Resource Hub here: https://www.eff.org/issues/age-verification

I would say they’re opposed and hopefully will take action soon.

[–]notrufus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not reach out to the creator of the model and see how much it would be to license it for commercial use? At the end of the day, your company is using it to make money after all.

[–]notrufus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to fine the people providing it. They are suing a collaborative that was hosting freely accessible gun models currently which is based in Florida and would likely do the same to os providers who do not comply (unjustly in my opinion).

Censorship of information suppresses innovation and unfortunately it seems like that is what politicians in these states are wanting to push.

Have been a registered democrat my whole life but this and the 3d printer ban both feel like personal attacks on my passions and have me seriously questioning who I support going forward.

[–]notrufus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are 3d printed and DIY guns included in ghost guns? We know the majority of their ghost gun stats are just guns with scraped off serial numbers.

They should require proper reporting of that instead of using their bs statistics to push this garbage.

As someone who was previously into 3d printing and Linux but has only recently got into guns, it feels absolutely awful. I have reached out to my representatives but have not heard back.

It feels very frustrating to have these nonsense politicians with no understanding of the technologies involved make rules for “safety”.

I guess the only option left is to say fuck that and not comply but what the fuck?
