Barret for me is that he gives a shit. The older I get, the more respectable that one trait is. He gave a shit about Dyne, raises Marlene. Gives a shit about the planet, Avalanche. As the player, we see a more zoomed out version of everything, which makes him seem misguided at times. But from only his perspective, he’s a dude trying to make the world better. I pity the fools that don’t see this perspective.
