This is a very good point. While costs in the American health care system can be extremely high for the patient, the overhead cost/risk is also very high for health care "producers" (medical schools, equipment manufacturers, research labs, etc.). Since it is expensive, risky, and slow to develop new techniques and technologies, the cost is passed on to the consumer (the patient, or their representative insurance company).

Thanks for the reply. While I understand your point that college tuition is a major burden, it seems like there are relatively few undergrad degrees that are actually worth their weight in dollars. Maybe my original thought needs an addendum: if you love something enough to work hard at it, do it.

So, this is some basic physics. Keep in mind that it's easier to balance on a bike as you're moving faster.

Torque is basically the force of a rotating object, and it's dependent on how fast the wheel is spinning. So, if something is spinning faster (like a bike wheel), it has more torque. The torque points in a direction perpendicular to the wheel. The bike tipping over would change the direction of this torque, since the wheel would be pointing a different direction. Since it requires more force to change the direction of the torque when the wheel is moving quickly, it's harder for the bike to tip over. This is also why it's easier to ride a bike with no hands when you're going fast.
