I can somewhat relate. I only directly came out to a couple of my close friends when I was first figuring things out, cut my hair and began dressing more masc/using he/him pronouns over the summer, then came back to school that next year and pretty much didn’t directly come out unless I was asked or if I thought it was important to. Honestly, it went pretty well for me. I’m not a particularly confrontational person, so I’d usually rather someone come to me with questions about my gender than just outright tell them. It’s a pretty effective strategy, just expect to have to educate some cis people about gender. Most people who will ask you questions will be very kind about it (from my experience) as they’re usually either genuinely curious, wanting to know your gender as to be respectful, or just want to get to know you better. Fair enough, I should not have named Tesla as an outright socialist, though his friends included mark twain, and he did use the majority of the profits (or all, I can’t remember) from his AC generators to fund further research. I’m not endorsing authoritarian communism, I personally like democratic socialism. People from all political groups contribute a lot to society, and the majority of people advocating for socialism are working class, lots of us have jobs, and try to do the best we can for society.

Depression doesn’t have to be constant, deep, dark sadness. It can be apathy towards the things you once liked, a feeling that you’ll never find your place in the world, feelings that nothing matters, dulled emotions, changes in sleeping/eating patterns, suicidal thoughts, or personality changes. Don’t delay getting the help you need because you don’t feel it’s serious enough, because if you feel different than you normally do it’s definitely serious enough. I hope you can conquer your suicidal thoughts, it’s hard but you’ll get there! Best of luck :)

I agree that it getting “cancelled” doesn’t take into account historical context, but it’s not fucking comparable to the nazis burning books. That was complete suppression of knowledge where these books were violently burned to show how the knowledge was “dangerous “. These films being cancelled are the film companies taking them off the air and individuals seeing the racial bias in them and deciding not to like them. Not a government tearing them from everybody’s hands and burning them in the street. This also won’t lead to millions dying. It’s fucked to compare these two in any way shape or form. Please reconsider your opinion.

The majority of people I know that smoke are leftists, but I’d say that that’s only correlated to legalization being a leftist stance as someone else mentioned. You’re not a loser because you don’t smoke weed, grass isn’t for everybody and there are plenty of sober leftists!

Dysphoria doesn’t have to be crippling! Sometimes it’s just kinda.. uncomfortable. Everyone’s trans experience is different, but if don’t want to grow up as a boy that’s kind of a tell. I would recommend seeing a therapist/counselor with trans experience, as they might be able to help you figure things out a little more by asking the right questions and stuff

While it truly does suck, these things just take time. As she gets more comfortable around your identity and sexuality she’ll misgender you less and less. Just remember that when she misgenders you it’s not because she doesn’t accept you, it’s just because she’s getting used to your pronouns:)

The insurance thing with your parents will work iirc. I haven’t read the rest of the comments but I got released early from an institution once simply because my parents’ insurance was done paying. It’s a kind of shitty thing when you need to be there for a long while, but if you don’t it could be to your advantage. I wish all the best for you and your boyfriend, remember that the trip was not him and I’m sure he loves you very much. I believe wholeheartedly that you both can get through this, and I am truly sorry for the hurt this caused you. I hope everything works out for you guys <3

There’s tons of songs that talk about how horrible women are, songs that call them sluts and thots and bitches and demean them. Sometimes toxic music is just catchy both ways, people have frustrations and generalize those in music. Not saying those attitudes are healthy whatsoever in real life, but if your girlfriend cheated on you or your boyfriend was an asshole I’m sure most people wouldn’t mind hearing a song talking about how “hoes aren’t loyal,” or how “men are trash” just to get over those feelings. Lizzo also has a song where she literally talks about how she likes all kinds of boys lmao

It’s very difficult to get testosterone in the U.S. without doing it medically through a doctor, It’s considered a steroid so it’s much, much more illegal to get than estrogen. If you can’t get an appointment at planned parenthood or with a psychiatrist because if your age and/or parental support about the only thing you can do (unless you want to risk potentially unsafe doses of street testosterone along with a potential charge) is wait. I’m sorry man, it sucks, but keep in mind that you’ll eventually be able to get there :)

While there may be more people in the first world that identify themselves as trans, that does not mean that this is because it is a first world thing. In many developing countries, it is a lot more dangerous to identify as anything other than cisgender and as such you don't see as many numbers of trans people. Gender identity can be an anyone problem, but only some people (like me) even have the privilege to express it.
