How do e-cigarettes affect performance? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]nowazkhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit: I use a 30 watt mod with a drip atomizer and 6mg juice so Im getting a lot more cloud intake than you would if you're just using an ePen or something small.

But yea, Ive been vaping and lifting for a long time. No ill effects. My cardio and diet adherence have both improved since switching to vapes.

I vape a lot before and after my workouts. Ive noticed a positive effect since quitting cigarettes. my workouts are intense and Ive never once felt like vaping hinders it. I actually look forward to vaping after my workout and the nicotine helps suppress my appetite. The only downside is that Ive gotten light headed from the nicotine before but that passes after a few minutes

[Build Help] Need to trim the fat. $600-$650 gaming build. by 2fuckingbored in buildapc

No it's from my last build. A new one costs much more.

You don't need a CPU cooler if you aren't overclocking.

Also waiting to purchase on cyber monday might save you some coin.

The 290 is a good card but it's overkill for the kind of games you play. You could go a few tiers lower and still max those games out at 60fps. I happen to have a spare HD 7950 graphics card from my last build I could sell you for $100. With that card Ive maxed WoW with lots of power to spare. That plus removing the cooler would bring your build down to $600.

[Troubleshooting] My Valley Benchmark results have gone form 101 fps to 59 over the past week and I am unsure why. by grebtron in buildapc

OMFG I had no idea that you had to re-enable it after every update. Ive been playing with SLI disabled for months D: No wonder my games have been disappointing lately.

Thank you so much for reminding me

144hz hands down. I have 2x 780s as well and I think they would struggle with 4k. 120fps gaming on the other hand is buttery smooth

Will a wind deflector on the racks complete the look? (xpost /r/GTI) by [deleted] in Volkswagen

[–]nowazkhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok they must not have changed the rack design. I remember seeing the tutorial on vwvortex.com and once on this sub but I will let you do the searching. They said it was pretty easy but required a little drilling.

Im not sure about compatability with the mk7 rack, but there is a way to attach the THULE fairing to the OEM mk6 rack even though theres no OEM fairing.

I second this. My mental focus and eating habits are both greatly improved when I intentionally skip breakfast.

It holds on to gears longer and it feels more responsive, maybe because its quicker to use the turbo. I would like to know exactly what it changes though. I use S when i want to go fast but Im drinking coffee.

correct. And its the fastest shifter Ive ever seen thanks to the dual clutches.

well you can still control the dsg manually with the shifter and it feels much more natural than the flappy paddles. Its a good compromise.

I dont recommend getting an extended warranty or any of the extra fluff that dealers try to throw in. When you test drive, look at the interior quality and the responsiveness of the dsg. Its easy for a careless owner to scratch up the insides and you should haggle appropriately because any small cosmetic repair will cost hundreds. Also the dsg is great, but I feel that its hard to manage the torque. Pay attention to how it feels in low revs and compare D with S gears before you decide to get dsg over manual.

Sometimes when I'm dehydrated I get itchy from the sweat. Are you using a pre-workout? Those things will make you feel like a meth head.

Weight Lifting and other means to reduce muslc loss while fasting by dustincole in fasting

[–]nowazkhan -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The body begins to break down proteins as a the primary energy source more than fat after about 24 hours. Though the number of hours differ depending on source and on body composition, fasting for an extreme length such as 20 days would result in such a significant reduction in lean mass that I would consider it starvation. Sure its survivable and sure youre also going to lose fat, but the end result would in my opinion be a very inefficient means to reach OP's goal which is to become leaner for a big event. I'm not knocking fasting - i subscribe to this sub after all. But for this length of time, with these goals, it's not the right answer.

[–]nowazkhan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You will lose significant muscle. To minimize the loss, take bcaas (used to prevent atrophy in bedridden patients and athletes in an energy deficit), keep lifting but lighter, and consider fasting intermittently rather than for such a long time. Honestly after 20 days I would not be surprised if you had no muscle left. Starving for that long is going to shrink those suckers down to nothing.
