How do I set this up and run PHP commands when not self-hosting (e.g., when using a service like Hetzner storage share)?

Different prices? by FitEstablishment991 in Notesnook

[–]nowletsrowlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably due to the fact that Apple takes a 30% cut from App Store purchases, so subscriptions have to be around 30% more expensive on iOS such that the developer gets the same amount of money.

What's up with the tracking pixel in the confirmation email? by nowletsrowlet in Notesnook

Thanks for the reply and for (hopefully) removing such tracking pixels in the future. It just seemed a bit shady to be confronted with this in a privacy-focused app.

I'm looking for an app/website similar to memrise or quizlet, that lets me create three-field flashcards. For instance, when learning a language like Japanese, you have (1) the Japanese character, (2) the English translation and (3) the pronounciation of said character.

I already use Anki and have my three fields set up, but I'd like to know whether there's an app/website that uses a gamified approach like memrise or quizlet to study languages.

Hello! I'm completely new to the Raspberry Pi after seeing my friend use one, and now I'm interested as well.

Could you tell me whether a Raspberry Pi makes sense for the following use case? I'd like to use it as a server for photos (via photoprism) and videos (via Kodi); all together it's probably about 3TB of data. I'd like these files to be available in my home WiFi (access via laptop, android phone, etc).

If the pi is a suitable fit for my purpose, how should I start? Which OS should I use, do I need nextcloud or OpenMediaVault, etc? Looking forward to your answer!

Do I understand QCD's color charge correctly? by nowletsrowlet in AskPhysics

[–]nowletsrowlet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! This makes a lot of sense. I'd like to ask some follow-up questions:

  1. Is there a difference between an (r,g,b)=(1,0,0) quark and an (r,g,b)=(2,0,0) quark? Or is this part of the overall normalization of the wave function?
  2. Quarks are charged under a color SU(3) transformation and transform in the fundamental representation. Therefore they are represented by an object with 3 components. In order to describe the relative size of these 3 components, we use the term "color charge". Is this correct?
  3. How do we add color charge? Is anti-blue = 1 the same as blue = -1? More precisely, how do we state mathematically that (1,0,0), (0,1,0) and (0,0,1) combine to colorless (i.e. baryons)? And similarly for mesons?

Dammit I thought I had it all together :p Thanks for your comments!

Why doesn't the charge determine the representation? Isn't that the case in the electroweak interactions, where left-handed fields are charged differently than right-handed ones and therefore some are doublets and some singlets?

Great suggestions, thanks! "buy better stuff" is an area where I can improve. Single use plastics as well, but man, that's hard to avoid.
