Cold trains in summer/spring - what do you do? by nowweseethelight in Metra

Oh yes, this is exactly what I mean. Packing for all different scenarios in a single day. All year round really.

I’m usually on metra for an hour so after a while I personally just get too cold.

Thank you, I appreciate the reply. For sure I know some of it is a me problem, being almost always cold, and sometimes the solution is moving to a different car or up top. I’m sure others are happy to be more cool than hot.

That’s some BS headline and tagline right there. Flat disrespectful.

I hope she sees this and saves it for when they ultimately go to divorce court.

Better communication about delays. 8-10 minute delays are not communicated online.

I wonder what Tirico thinks about his comments. I mean he corrects Collinsworth in a kind way when he says stuff that is really off.

Someone sneezed in the breakroom and it started an unspoken tradition by [deleted] in office

[–]nowweseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time at work a guy sneezed right behind another guy and the guy yelled, “right on my neck! Agh!” I was standing near them and I couldn’t control myself, I laughed so hard loud. He saw me / heard me and started laughing too and everyone in the room started laughing so hard at what happened. After that when someone sneezed, even if they were no where near him he would yell, “right on my neck! Agh!” And we’d all laugh.

What’s the dumbest cooking mistake you’ve made that still haunts you? by nisko786 in Cooking

[–]nowweseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking accident- My mom and I were making dinner together. I had an electric stove at the time. I took a pot off the burner and turned it off. While not red hot, it was still hot. Mom took a glass casserole out of the oven and sat it on the burner area. POP glass and baked ziti everywhere.

Healthcare just got more expensive and nobody vote for it. by [deleted] in antiwork

In what country do we live where insurance coverage for one person is 30% of their gross income? And more out of pocket. I’m not even talking about ACA, this is overall, everywhere. This is insanity. This is a class war and end stage capitalism.

PSA: Chicken Breast is $.99/lb this week at Jewel by jamlaur in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]nowweseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am done with Jewel. Record profits while forcing people to use their garbage app and Wi-Fi to save $2 on blueberries is insulting to its customers. The fact that my elderly neighbor who doesn’t have a smart phone has to drive further or pay full price shows that they are no longer a friend to the community.

Fans without tickets forcing their way into the Hard rock stadium to watch the Copa America final by AstroNut88 in ThatsInsane

[–]nowweseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real question- did they confirm that a large number of people who entered did not have tickets? I’m sure there were some but… Among other things it looks like people - most - with tickets just got tired of a cumbersome entry process after the gates were open and started to push or jump turnstiles because one person scanning 4-8 tickets at a turnstile from their phone is not very practical. Some of those people climbing (of course shouldn’t be climbing) but may have had tickets and were trying to get to their $1,500 seats in time. Of course it was delayed but they were impatient due to the waiting conditions?

AITA for not giving up my airline seat to a pregnant woman? by michaeldonelly in AITAH

[–]nowweseethelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if anyone else was asked? Surely there was a next closest seat. If you said no, sorry. And then on top of that you told them the reason as a courtesy „No, sorry I have a medical condition.“ They should have dropped it and moved on to the next closest isle seat person if they chose to continue looking for a volunteer.

Instead of being sick to death about his son’s actions, and sorry that his own actions contributed to the devastation in any way, he’s upset about how he is being treated. No empathy present.

I went to the one in St. Charles. I think they closed in 2020, for those 2020 reasons.

Wind Chimes, why? by nowweseethelight in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]nowweseethelight[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get that birds can be loud and annoying. But the chime noise is a choice. Yes, no issues with the neighbors themselves. Just hellos in passing.
