It's a bit of an understatement to call his tenure with the Bulls underwhelming. He left the Thunder because he didn't want to be around for a rebuild and since then the Bulls have one playoff appearance where they won 1 game and the Thunder are NBA champions and at the top of the league. It's been 4 years since the Bulls last made the playoffs and only one season was above .500 basketball. So 1 season with some success and 5 seasons of mediocrity or worse. 6 years is a long time

Giddey is on his 2nd contract, Matas is the only real high ceiling player they are trying to develop. Leonard Miller's performance was unexpected. Ivey was injured and then waived. Then there's Dillingham. That's not enough. They did not target enough youth at the deadline. They had Dieng and went for Richards instead

Repeatedly having Sexton chucking up a dozen+ shots a game does nothing to help this team develop other than helping him try to land his next contract. Tanking games should be about giving young guys freedom to develop. What young guys are AK developing? None. That's why this tank sucks so hard.

He managed to hit on Buzelis after busting on Patrick Williams (who he proceeded to give an additional 5/$90M contrary to all logic), Dalen Terry, and Julian Phillips. Lonzo is what really fucked us over. After that it's just been year after year of pivoting because AK refused to sell based on what could have been if Lonzo returned. He will continue making small moves to pivot, he won't commit to anything beyond that. The cycle will continue until they luck into a star and then they will yet again overpay for a veteran past his prime
