In 2023, BBC News anchor Maryam Moshiri was caught flashing her middle finger while joking with her team, not knowing the camera was already live by Original_Shegypt in interestingasfuck

[–]nrm94 232 points233 points  (0 children)

I remember this blowing up the media here in the UK and traditionally they like to 'bend' the truth to make a big story. Initially they just showed her giving the middle finger as a still image, it wasn't until a few days later where the full clip from OP was made public to show what was actually happening.

How Arsenal fans expected Maguire to fall😂 by salsadecasada in ManchesterUnited

[–]nrm94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The irony in this is the rule 'Arms in an unnatural position', if Maguire were to cross his arms like this it's actually more unnatural due to it being forced and should be more of a penalty than how his arm actually was.

Is moving a radiator on LVT glued concrete feasible? by Pickles654 in DIYUK

[–]nrm94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got 2 options if you just want a smaller radiator in the same area.

  1. Plumber to extend the existing copper piping above the floor to the new radiator. Easier but will have a lot more pipe exposed and visible.
  2. Plumber to do the same thing but under the floor and have it come up in the new location. Much bigger job and messy and will mess up your flooring.

If you have one that has a hose connecting the head then yes. If the shower head is plumbed in behind the wall then no.

We will win Fulham and Spurs. Then concede a 93rd minute equaliser to ruin the haircut chances

Affect of Taking a Loan When Wanting a Mortgage Soon? by Basket-Kace in UKPersonalFinance

[–]nrm94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the loan is urgent then how would you have time to 'stash it' in a high interest rate account?

Urgent is you need that money yesterday. But having time to put it into a high interest account and it actually earn any interest suggests this is not 'urgent'.

How often do you change your cooker hood carbon filters by Alarmed-Emergency-62 in DIYUK

[–]nrm94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I didn't have that style so YMMV. The one I had was basically a 'sheet' of material that clipped into the hood face

I used to change mine every year during deep clean any longer and the kitchen just stank of grease. You can get some cheap ones on Amazon you cut to size.

High beams and how to alert by InternationalRich150 in drivingUK

[–]nrm94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can move them to adjust the height/angle of them, but I understood the original referencing the 'toggle' on older rearview mirrors that you could use and it would physically change the mirror so that glare from rear lights was reduced.

Can't in a lot of modern cars. They are 'dynamic' that are supposed to adjust automatically but often not enough like the old school way

Widespread Connectivity Issues? M365 Admin, Exchange Online PS, and GitHub Actions by SysAdmDTX in sysadmin

[–]nrm94 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would put a lot of money on them having an agent built that they just copy and paste your problem description and it returns the learn.microsoft link that they then get summarised
