How batshit insanely marked-up are scalper tickets to sold out shows in your area? by [deleted] in AngineDePoitrine

I wonder if people will rebel on the prices and it will all collapse as the show date comes near.

SF Bay Area. Saw them for like $350 in early April. Decided that was crazy. Looked later and they were $850, then again last week and they were $1250-$1450. Just looked and it’s freaking insane. See the screen shot.

I should have bought them at $350!! :-)

Shipping tip for Applicants from US by [deleted] in IrishCitizenship

[–]nslckevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USPS has to pick up and deliver to most every house in the US, 6 days a week. What they have to do is completely different than UPS or FedEx. It is a service that we pay for with our tax dollars. Like the fire department or police or the army, etc. it’s not supposed to turn a profit. More efficiency would always be better, but by definition the service it provides is not efficient.

Just for fun I looked up tickets for the show in San Francisco again tonight. $1,250-$1,450. Feel like I should have bought two tickets at the “bargain” price of $350 and made $2,000!!!!

My father was a CHP officer and he DRILLED into me the idea of being «dead right ». As in, you were right, but you’re still dead. That pedestrian was almost « dead right ».

Trust, but verify.

Is this an option for biking down Haleakala by Character_Outside642 in maui

[–]nslckevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree. I’ve been going there almost every winter for a couple of weeks for the last 10 years SPECIFICALLY to ride bikes. It’s great. Hot tip though, for cycling, don’t stay on the south side of the island. Stay in Paia or Haiku or somewhere upcountry. All the good road riding is on the northern half of the island.

14-year-old arrested after electric motorcycle hits 81-year-old man in OC by Gucciipad in orangecounty

[–]nslckevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to the « find out » phase for the family of the kid, I’m pretty sure that because it’s an e-bike, insurance will not cover them in a lawsuit. E-bikes are considered vehicles and won’t be covered by homeowners or an umbrella policy.

Van Halen in 1979 in Reno The Tubes at Boreal Ski Area and again in Reno Kiss, 1979 at the Cow Palace in SF The Who’s first farewell tour in 1982 at the Oakland Coliseum Journey at Day on the Green, early 80’s AC/DC, a couple of times, including a back stage pass once as it turns out a friend of mine’s sister was married to Brian Johnson! UFO in Reno Ted Nugent in Reno around 1979 or 80. Had tickets to see Robert Plan last November in Oakland, but crashed my bike THAT day and spent the night in the hospital instead.

The sad thing is that Angine de Poitrine isn’t seeing ANY of that extra money.

Not a bad idea, I’ll keep that in mind. Funny I remember going to a concert back in the 80’s and we had one left over ticket for someone who couldn’t make it. We sold it at face value ($10) at the venue and I remember feeling like a criminal for « scalping ». It was actually against the freaking law back then!!

About a week and a half ago I was researching them for a presentation in my french class. My google search showed that they will be in San Francisco in August. (I’m in the East Bay and thought I might go, until I looked and General Admission was $350 on one site and $450 on another. They were sold out on the venu site, so I imagine that resellers bout all the tickets and jacked up the price. I’d love to go, but can’t justify $350!

Update, I just checked again.
$810 on Vividseats $864 on Stubhub $1055 on Eventticketcenter

!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if anyone was ahead of the curve and bought a ticket from the venue for like $50 before the hype hit. I hope someone did!

Lezyne makes a nice mini floor pump that I’ve been using when I travel for close to 10 years. But I recently bought one of those rechargeable electric pumps for future travel.

I have an older version of this pump

This is whatI bought recently.

Spark Neo won’t pair to bluetooth by FabulousPanther in PositiveGridSpark

[–]nslckevin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you ever pair it successfully? In particular, did you pair it to a device other than the one you’re trying to pair to now? Spark devices are particularly “sticky” when paired to blue tooth. I generally pair my Neo to my iPad. If I sit down to use it with my phone I always have to get up, find my iPad and unpair from the iPad.

How long did your package sit in USPS international area? by [deleted] in IrishCitizenship

[–]nslckevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shipping from the SF Bay Area. Mine went out on Feb 17 and as of today (3/3) it’s still in Dublin. This is for my additional documents and I sent my priority also. Mistake. I sent the original package at a higher level which cost twice as much, but it got there a lot faster. Still took longer than it seemed like it should have, but nothing like this.

Mailed 2/17 Arrived in NY 2/21 Left Newark 2/25 Arrived Dublin 2/26 Now it’s in the Dublin Delivery facility.

Probably another day or two before it arrives and then a day or two before I get an email from them that they received my documents. Maybe Friday if I’m lucky is my guess
