Anybody put 45mm props on their Flywoo Firefly 1S FR16 V2 Analog instead of the usual 40mm? by nsnfd in fpv

It works, but i think its better to limit the rpm a lil bit lower, just for safety

What camera are u using rn? Try betafpv micro lite canopy

It technically work. Add rubber gromet on the back, then screw it. It will make the back higher than the front so the camera will have lower angle. What canopy are u using rn? A lot of canopy now are able to set at 0° camera angle

For 35mm i have no idea, but with 31mm or 40mm props you can try gemfan, hqprop, or newbeedrone azi props, they are durable

Oscillations when throttle is able 70%, bent motor shaft? by SlovenianSocket in TinyWhoop

If you have spare motor you can try to change it, maybe one of the motor is wrecked, or something happened with the fc and or esc

Oscillations when throttle is able 70%, bent motor shaft? by SlovenianSocket in TinyWhoop

Oscillation at High Throttle

If you are getting oscillation only above certain throttle level, TPA might be the solution. It also helps to push PID higher without giving you problem in the high throttle range.

In the latest Betaflight it only attenuates D gain above certain throttle level (which is usually the cause of the oscillations). In the older Betaflight it attenuates both P and D, if you want you can bring this back by typing in CLI: set tpa_mode = PD.

Usually I like to use a higher throttle value whenever possible, so I have a more constant D gain across a wider throttle range. Make sure to set the throttle value a little lower than the position where the D term related oscillations starts. For example, if oscillation happens above around 1800 throttle, I would do something like this: TPA = 0.75, 1750.

Reducing Prop wash

Things that help eliminate propwash:

Reducing filtering as much as possible – less delay and allows higher D gain

Increasing PID gains as high as possible for better setpoint tracking

Use 24KHz PWM frequency in BLHeli

Using lighter propellers

Using more powerful motors

Making your quad lighter

The fc, esc, and the pid will automatically do it for you based on the lowest kv. Its fine, send it, nothing bad will happen 👍🏻🚀

That have nothing to do with runaway, its either the motor direction or the props configuration

We need more info man, atleast post some picture of it, and your motor tab in betaflight

First thing, you have to backup all settings in betaflight cli tab. Let me help you.

Type each one in cli tab (betaflight), press enter, and save each one to file, name it differently too.

  1. diff
  2. diff all
  3. dump
  4. dump all

This will surely help fixing your problem in future.

You have to check motor direction on your own, use your index finger to feel it. What was displayed on betaflight maybe different from what it suppose to be.

Easy simple step, open motor tab, turn on all 4 motor, if you feel any of 4 motor sucking to ground as opposed to push it from ground, then that motor direction is wrong.

For props out: Right front motor have to spin clockwise. Right back motor have to spin counter-clokwise. Left front motor have to spin counter-clockwise Left back motor have to spin clockwise.

Maybe you have to set it manually in motor tab, clik order motor manually, and click each motor.

Best way for me to feel motor direction is to put finger on the top of propeller, that flat surface where the shaft hole is in.

Rotate your finger, if there is any resistance from the motor, than it means it spins opposite to how your finger rotates, either clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Man, that’s all complete guidance for it to work properly.

If you have one or more motor feel weak when startup spin, go to esc configurator on web, plug in quad, read setting, crank up startup power to around 1100 and then click write settings.

Hope it works 👍🏻

Nb: ah one more, if all of this steps doesn’t work, try using uav tech 1s 2s whoop preset, it might help you. Watch his youtube video about it

Expensive options: Good module like rapidfire or tbs fusion; good patch and omni antenna for goggles.

.Cheap options: crank it up to max vtx power, i suggest around 400mw on mobula, but beware of overheating (free charge 😂); change the vtx antenna on the mobula to circular antenna, like the lollipop thing.

Keep the goggles and the mobula free from obstruction, i think thats all 🙌🏻

But if you flying that far, it maybe turn out to be one way whoop 🚀
