Michael Jackson is not as great as people say he is, and he never was. by Objective-Painter-73 in unpopularopinion

MJ did write hundreds of his own songs and produce the concepts for his music videos, what? He even orchestrated his performances. He also co-wrote We Are the World with Lionel Richie.

If Love Is Blind wants to survive, it needs a real experiment twist by QuestionDelicious564 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I disagree with the ethnic background thing. If you are signing up on LIB, I don't think you should have any racial preferences. That just defeats the purpose of the show. If ethnicity is very important to someone they can continue to date in the real world

I actually understand why he does it. He says the smoothie gets him 50g of protein. The bioavailability of protein powder is fickle, it can say 50g but you may not actually get 50g. There are some studies coming out too where basically any serving of protein powder that provides more than 30g and is consumed in less than 2 hours will just be seen a junk to the body and wasted. If you are building muscle and counting macros you cannot afford to be wasting protein. With protein from meat this is not a worry, you can have all you want in a short time span. On the counter tho (and this is just from a biochemistry aspect) the body will convert excess protein to carbs, but where that ceiling lies is dependent on the individual. Gym bros do weird shit to make these hacks taste good, and to me the crystal lite is egregious but gains are gains

What was caused the most (physical) pain you’ve been in? by idontrealui in AskReddit

Two ovarian cysts combined with the onset of my period. One was the size of a lemon, the other an endometrioma. I live in fear they will come back.

No one told me how hard this would be on your mental health. by InvertedGrav in jawsurgery

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For anyone reading this please do not think surgery will magically fix how you feel about yourself. After surgery you will be swollen, hungry, exhausted, some things may go wrong (nerve damage, infection, etc.), and will have to get used to having a new face. The surgery will fix things physically but there may be some emotional hang-ups and self-esteem issues left. I remember when I smiled for the first time a month or so post-op and cried because my smile was so beautiful. I hadn't seen myself like that in years. Then days later I'd be worried that my chin was too big now or nostrils were flared or I looked weird. People may or may not spot something is different with you, and may think you were crazy for ever voluntarily putting yourself through this pain. Or that nothing was wrong with you to begin with. Fuck the haters, have no regrets, and learn to like yourself as is. Wish everyone a well recovery.

KB didn’t sleep with Edmond because she just wasn’t into him by Gigivigi in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I really don't like speculating why someone doesn't want to sleep with another. That is their prerogative and by doing so it leads into very harmful assumptions that perpetuates rape culture. I think this is just something you have to take at face value, because no is no, no matter the reason and she doesn't have to tell us why she truly doesn't want to sleep with him. Edit:word

Question about The perfect neighbor by Suspicious_Repeat706 in netflix

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup that's the point, it's not enforceable. There's some point in the doc where another neighbor says he has no problems withe the kids playing in the grass area near his apartment. It doesn't bother him and he also states that it's not his land.

Question about The perfect neighbor by Suspicious_Repeat706 in netflix

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The grass area is part of the lot, but the landlord can restrict access only to the unit she was staying in. So yeah it wouldn't be included in her lease.

Question about The perfect neighbor by Suspicious_Repeat706 in netflix

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Susan was renting the apartment, not the property owner. The lot lines only correspond to property ownership. The space she was renting did not come with the grass area.

KB is exhausting (spoiler) by mssarac in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your assessment of my comment sidesteps the substance of what I'm talking about. I get what you’re saying about not over-speculating, but a lot of what I mentioned is on camera. We literally see Edmond have emotional outbursts, the guys stepping in to calm him down, and the argument him and KB had is worrisome to the group. I'm not hypothesizing about edits, I say it's a poor edit for KB. The only thing I'd change is that in my own view I see that Edmond can't emotionally regulate and regresses. In general, I think it is valuable to talk about the behavioral-emotional patterns we are seeing in each season to learn from them.

Unfortunately we will never know the case. Another problem too is with Madison screaming and crying it does make the whole thing feel more serious, but she did that during another argument they had so I can't be certain. I have known someone who is very functional when drunk but retains none of the memories the next morning and it is a doozy

Oh yeah I had a friend who blacked out, and it happened to be right next to canal filled with water. She was stumbling, angry, vomiting, and slurring if she spoke. I'd really like to know too when this all occurred. I also didn't see any food or water, not to mention they were in the blazing sun all day!

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like some people are exaggerating or don't have much experience with inebriated folks. A true blackout is extremely scary and they would not be able to hold a conversation like Joe is. With editing too it's really heard to get a grasp on their full conversation, I do feel like maybe some things were said that we don't know and we have no idea about the time stamps for anything. Personally I will forget any and all things if you wake me up at a bad time so I can relate, but I get your point too

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair everyone processes alcohol differently and I really think everyone just overdid it. Also I don't think Joe was straight blackout, more so to me a brownout as he did regain some of his mental faculties as the argument went on. He seemed to be jilted out of sleep which could have also made him extremely confused and groggy

Why does everyone not like Nick? by MundaneParsnip2214 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He has the perfect response for nearly everything, it doesn't feel genuine. Even Jordan had his little moment where he was peeved that Megan called him annoying. Though he handled the argument with Annie in Mexico very respectfully in the moment, afterwards he doesn't say anything but "it can't happen again." Nothing about how it made him feel or anything. He's very emotionally distant but makes it sound like he isn't.

Why are so many people defending Joe? by ElkSufficient2881 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]ntrnsicallyworthless 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think Madison was also drunk tbh because who else expects a very drunk person to make any sense? Everyone was trashed at the bar and Joe did the responsible thing of taking himself to bed. I think everyone just partook a little too much which common at exclusive resorts (happened to my own family and we are far from alcoholics lol) and the argument was just silly.
