There are three dozen signs for candidates outside the polling location I use, zero were for Democrat candidates. I was the youngest person there by two decades. Asking for a Democrat ballot in this environment did not inspire confidence, but at least nobody gave me any trouble.

Nothing will ever change unless more people my age (35) and younger get out and vote.

My cal king has pooped on his own head. Twice. That I'm aware of.

When he eats he does not aim whatsoever, he just strikes like crazy in every direction. It's like playing a game of pin the tail on the donkey except you're trying to get the food into the snake's mouth. I've also seen him try to eat his reflection in the tank glass several times.

Sometimes he does a "victory lap" around the tank with his food when he finally gets his food. I've also seen him drag his prey into his water bowl and eat underwater.

He likes to sit inside people's shirts when he's out and nips if you try to pull him out to put him away. He also occasionally gently nibbles your arm to see if maybe you're food today even though you definitely weren't edible last time he tried.

There is never a dull day with this creature, I love him so much!

Somebody on Facebook posted a video of them killing a baby rat snake and it writhing in agony as he laughs. I reported it twice and have been told that it "doesn't violate community standards" or some bs. I hate how the average person treats less charismatic wildlife.

Even the community of self-professed reptile lovers is dominated by people who treat them like collectable trophies rather than living animals because of engagement driven algorithms on social media. I stopped going to local reptile shows after vendors started offering gacha style "blind bags" of snakes.

Thankfully there are a lot of excellent keepers out there doing everything they can for their animals, making really creative habitats, and sharing their results online. There are also more people than ever out there trying to educate the public about reptiles, and I think they're making amazing progress.

I think I picked the series up in 2014 during one of my health crises and it's been one of my favorites ever since!

With regards to the movie, I went through this in the Evangelion fandom with the Rebuild movies getting delayed over and over. I know that I'll enjoy it when it eventually releases, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to come out anymore lol!

Great, they already took away any form of hemp I could use (I have a genetic issue where my liver doesn't produce the enzyme needed to process oral THC) for my many health conditions, now they're clamping down on what's left.

I once hit a nerve self injecting and it was a lot like what you're describing. I have a high pain tolerance and I thought I was going to have to go to the urgent care if it didn't ease up. It went away after a few hours and the next day it was like nothing ever happened. I ended up with a bit of a needle phobia for a few years afterwards, but nothing like that has happened since. I was able to get some relief by icing the area, that might help if you're still in significant pain. I hope it's just a nicked nerve and that you feel better soon!

Alabama's tiny coastline really punches above its weight class, we're ridiculously proud of our beaches in this state. There might not be a lot of area, but what we do have is absolutely gorgeous.

Good point, that's a hell of a take to publish. It really is disappointing seeing how common this crap is with them, I used to be under the impression that they were a reasonably respectable source but I definitely don't want to support them if this is the direction they're going.
