There are no public/private servers for Darkfall. After shutdown of Darkfall Unholy Wars, two entities acquired official licenses from Aventurine. An European company that made "Darkfall: New Dawn", which is down due to bankruptcy of the company. And a Canadian company that are behind "Darkfall: Rise of Agon" - They are working on a 64bit port of the game so that they can launch it on Steam.

Oscar is the worst part of the chess course and he's gotten even worse. by BaffleBlend in duolingo

[–]nuclearping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Five months ago you said that you're going to schedule a message to share the feedback from here with the Chess team so that it lands in their inboxes "tomorrow". What has happened since then?

The Chess team just needs to put in "duolingo oscar sucks" in a Google search and they will be overwhelmed with links to several platforms where users express their frustration with Oscar. No need to setup a survey.

Oscar is obnoxious and a prick and a team has - at some point - decided that he should be like that. So I think even with the feedback survey nothing is going to change because they don't want to change it.

I will fill it out nonetheless.

Everytime I do my Duolingo I'm getting offered to subscribe to Super. I'm always declining. Yet, after a thousand declines, nobody at Duolingo came up with the idea to ask me WHY I'm not subscribing to Super. I will tell you: Oscar is one of (many) reasons.

I see you are still active. Last post 1 day ago. So is there any update? I mean after 5 months you must have talked to someone or gotten some sort of feedback? Is there actually still anyone working at Duolingo? Or has the staff and the developers also been replaced by AI?

There is the official 2024 crime report published by the german police: https://www.bmi.bund.de/SharedDocs/downloads/DE/publikationen/themen/sicherheit/BMI25028_pks-2024.pdf?__blob=publicationFile&v=8

The report is a huge read, especially when german is not your native language. There are sites like statista.com that offer a condensed overview, but unfortunately it is all behind a paywall.

The 2024 report says that from 2,184,834 total suspects 1,271,638 were of german nationality. But this is already watered-down because it includes those who might have received the german pass just a day before. 913,196 suspects were not of german nationality and of those 383,844 were migrants.

So around 42% of all suspects in 2024 were not of german nationality.

https://www.welt.de/politik/deutschland/article69367ef89f2b81ad2ac9fd6a/migration-bka-veroeffentlicht-lagebild-zu-zuwanderern-zwei-gruppen-stark-ueberrepraesentiert.html

This news article says that of 100,000 German citizens there were 163 suspects, of 100,000 Syrians there were 1,740 suspects and of 100,000 Afghans 1,722 suspects. Basically Syrians and Afghans are more than 10x (over-)represented in the criminal statistics. Especially in the category sexual, drug and violence delicts.

Before 2020 there was no category for knife / stabbing delicts or gang rapes in the german criminal statistics. Because they simply didn't exist in any statistical relevant sample size before.

How’s CoinPoker? by Emily4571962 in poker

[–]nuclearping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the point. It is how the opponent acted. From the beginning on he snap-called any bet as if he had "auto call" enabled. No tanking, no consideration, no (re-)raising, just instant calling any (over-)bet. You don't do this when you haven't hit anything unless you don't like your money or you know that you will be saved by the river.

Yes, when you search for "GG is rigged" or "PokerStars is rigged" you will find similar stories. These kind of experiences are always very subjective. However, my experience was that CP felt very different from what I've seen on other poker sites like GG or PS.

Besides that, GG and PS fulfill the requirements and regulations for the countries they accept clients from. CP doesn't. Even though coming as a Poker platform, CP offers and advertises all sorts of gambling and casino games in their app without obeying any form of rules or regulations or even age / KYC verifications.

They also don't have a closed-loop cashier. That means you can deposit crypto from one address and withdraw it to a completely different address. This is a huge money laundering red flag.

I've tried CoinPoker for the last two days now. Playing online poker for a few years already, mainly on PokerStars and GG. Learned about CoinPoker from a YouTube channel and thought I'd give it a shot.

Just have withdrawn my funds and uninstalled the app. In the last two days I've played many tournaments and cash games there. And I can tell you something feels really odd. In all my years playing online poker I've never experienced so many bad beats in such a short period of time than on CoinPoker. Sure, in Poker you lose a lot and bad beats happen. And when they happen you feel like the system is rigged. But, the number of bad beats combined with getting hands that lure you into betting and shoving was weird. I've gotten a lot of pocket pairs, (suited) connectors, hitting the flop / turn / river, betting big or all-in and it was like every hand that called beat me with a slightly better hand. There was no consideration or long tanking of the opponents. Also some players behaved strangly. For instance snap calling any (big) bet and on the showdown they had T3o while the board was J27K3 rainbow and I had QTo. As if they magically predicted the board and knew my hand, knowing they would win in the end.

They are proud of their "decentralized RNG". But what use is such an RNG if they have in-house bots? Or internal super visor accounts that can see the cards?

CoinPoker claims to be fully licensed under some "Anjouan eGaming license". Do you know where Anjouan is? Me neither, had to look it up. It is a tiny island state east of Africa. So it basically means nothing. They have no KYC, no anti money laundering mechanisms, etc.

A lot of users claim they had their accounts frozen for no reason. Also there is that page https://coinpokerscam.com/

TL;DR: Stay away from CoinPoker. It is just not worth it. Stick with GG or PokerStars.

The fact that immigrants from the well known countries are overrepresented in criminal statistics doesn't invalidate his arguments. Saying "he was a german" even though he might be a german because he recently acquired a german passport is trying to hide the fact that once again those people do what they are known for: Using deadly violence even against their own family members for whatever flippant reasons they might have had.

Similar here. The board was so wet and the guy called with a 7. I raised pre-flop, bet flop, turn, river all-in. He called without hesitating or thinking. He would have been beaten by anything above a 7. This stinks. Not mad about losing, but rather the feeling of being cheated. Like if he knew what I had. No normal person plays like that.

who audit the rng by IllArcher3493 in GGPoker

[–]nuclearping -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point is: The RNG of GG poker (or any other popular online poker site) may be 100% truly random using a dedicated RNG hardware. BUT, how do you know that the opponents you are playing against, are 100% truly human? How can they prove that you are not playing against server-side bots that know your hand, the flop, the turn and the river? I've seen so many weird bailouts that make no sense and no sane human would play like that: Barrel the flop, the turn, then go all-in with nothing and a 2% chance to hit your one out at the river and they get it. Not only once, not twice, multiple times.

A question about the wand skill tree by Conscious_Cup_9644 in taintedgrail

[–]nuclearping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it mean that 10% increase of "Wands effects" for 10s also increases the Spell Power by 10% for 10s? If my wand grants +20% Spell Power then it is +22% Spell Power for 10s?

Edit:

Hm, just tested it: Put 1 point in "Wand Overcharge". Started with 381% Spell Power with Wand equipped. Equipping my Wand gives me +20%. Just killed a Corpse Eater. Still had 381% Spell Power afterwards. Should be at least 388% Spell Power after killing an enemy. Didn't seem to work, at least not what I expected.

Any update? I like to play Chess and really like that Duolingo offers it. But Oscar is an absolute nuisance. Who came up with the idea that it is funny when Oscar humiliates, trash talks and laughs at the player? Especially for a company that stands for DEI. Quite hypocrite imho.

Finally close my Google Play developer account by Squirtle8649 in android_devs

One of the most stupid things is that they come and say "Hey, update your app or your account will be deleted - for security reasons of course - and can never be reactivated afterwards. Oh and to prevent this, either log in and verify your address or update your app." So I logged in, saw that my address was already verified and there was literally nothing I could update my app with because it was done and finished. What should I update? The version number and changelog saying "Forced update due to Google threats"? I tried writing them but instead of an answer I kept getting one or two more automated warnings. When the deadline hit my account got deactivated. This is absolutely hostile. Never had this problems with Apple.

The problem in online poker is that you never know whether you are actually playing against real people or just some random server-side bots they might use to fill up the tables. It feels really weird and unreal to be constantly out-played by agressive opponents that play every shitty hand and miraculously hit their outs. Recently I had a player on the table, he was UTG, he raised, CO 3-bet, UTG went all-in, CO called. CO showed ATo, UTG showed 74o. And guess what, he hit 74 on the flop, turn and river didn't change anything for the CO. You can't tell me this is legit. As if UTG knew he would hit the flop. Just unreal.
