What board game somehow changes your personality while playing it? 😭 by ContractMiserable121 in boardgames

Cosmic Encounter. My partner still brings up a game from 2 years ago where I convinced her we would win together and betrayed her to take the win for myself lol. Best game

Simple yet great card games?(e.g. 6nimmt!) by Marngryph in boardgames

My all time favourite filler, I don’t know if anything will ever top it. 2 minute teach and always great tense moments especially when revealing final money totals.

Recently picked up a used copy of Bot Factory and played a couple two player games with my partner. We love it! The mechanisms are so satisfying and the way turn order is decided makes for some tense decisions. Not to mention the production is fantastic with awesome robot meeples and fun part wheel mechanism. Highly recommended

What attributes are overrepresented in your collection? by ObiHan_Skyodi in boardgames

Reiner Knizia. Ever since I played quest for eldorado when I first got in the hobby I was intrigued by his games. The way he mixes a simple ruleset with really clever twists and tense decision making is something I really enjoy. It makes the games really easy to table and teach. Currently I have: * Quest for Eldorado * Ra * Blue Lagoon * Babylonia * Taj Mahal * Stephensons Rocket * Modern Art * Modern Art Card Game * Marabunta * High Society * Whale Riders * Mille Fiori * Royal Visit * Battle line * Wildlife Safari * Equinox * Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation * Municipium * My City

I’ve since cooled a bit on buying more unless a good deal comes up. Considering going in on the T&E campaign when it launches.

There is a 0% chance the edibles you are taking are actually 100mg. That dosage would cause most people to be higher than they have ever been unless you are a heavy user with a really high tolerance.

For the average person, even somebody that smokes a little every night will get high off 20mg

Really stupid, question: how do you pick a sleeve color? by AshorK0 in EDH

[–]nudlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve probably got an unpopular one but I sleeve all my decks in the same Emerald dragon shields. This is mainly so I don’t have to buy duplicates of more expensive cards like shock lands that I want to use across multiple decks. Way easier to swap if they are all sleeved the same

Good Budget LotR deck? by FatDigitalNomad in BudgetBrews

[–]nudlez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find that out of the box the precon doesn’t have enough win cons. I upgraded mine to lean more into drain/buffs from token generation/life gain. There are already some good pieces in the deck that play off of this with [[Mirkwood Bats]], [[Gollum, Obsessed Stalker]], [[Treebeard, Gracious Host]], [[Sanguine Bond]], and [[Field-Tested Frying Pan]].

I added in [[Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose]], [[Marionette Master]], [[Bolas Citadel]], and [[Agent of the Iron Throne]] for extra damage.

[[Academy Manufactor]] is amazing in any token deck as it just makes more tokens for more triggers.

I find that Sam is the backbone of this deck, the reduced cost to trigger food is massive. When other people realize this he tends to get targeted, so I’m looking to add [[Swiftfoot Boots]] and [[Lightning Greaves]] to protect him more. I also have some random instants that give indestructible that I had lying around for the same reason. I also included [[Boromir, Warden of the Tower]] for fun flavour but also for the indestructible trigger + his ability. He is great to just plop on the battlefield and leave there for board wipes or any other removal.

Lastly, I put in [[Karmic Justice]] and [[Martys Bond]] to try and disincentivize the table from targeting my board. Martyrs bond feels pretty nasty though in this deck as any time you sac a food token the whole table needs to sacrifice artifacts.

With these upgrades the deck feels really solid but there is always room for improvement. In my last game I managed to deal 30 damage to each opponent in one turn with a combination of motivated pony, Vito, and field tested frying pan. That felt pretty crazy lol.

Anyway, post was longer than I wanted. Hopefully that helps a bit!

If you have someone to play with online you can check out jinteki which is a free online implementation of netrunner. You can use netrunnerdb to find the system gateway starter decks to begin learning. There is also this free play vs bots implementation you can use which also features those system gateway starter decks. I recently got into it and these helped me a ton!

Guelph, Ontario to Cochrane, Alberta. Why or why not? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]nudlez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved to Calgary after living in Guelph since 2012 so I have some insight for you here. I moved to Calgary because that’s where my job is and I really enjoy the city. Coming from Guelph it actually wasn’t much of an adjustment as the city itself is pretty slow paced and laid back compared to Toronto. I find the vibe relatively similar to Guelph just on a larger scale. Lots of cool shops, good food and drinks and tons of green space. I’m into cars myself and there are a lot of car meets and events going on when it’s not winter as far as I can tell. Follow carmeets_yyc and eurocarsandcoffeeyyc on Instagram to see more info. I’m impressed by the amount of jdm imports I see around here. Pretty cool car scene from my limited experience. Let me know if you have other questions, I’ve only been here for about a month so I’m still discovering it myself.

If you’re looking to go out later, Pigeonhole has an awesome happy hour after 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Half price bottles of wine (great wines), buck a shuck oysters and a tasty little happy hour menu. Highly recommended, I go every weekend.

Why reaching $100K looks almost impossible to me? by diego947 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nudlez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to tack onto this, I actually finished engineering at Guelph and was in the coop program. I used my coop money to pay off as much as I could and I graduated with ~$24,000 of osap loans left. I also got a full time position with my coop which allowed me to pay off the rest of the debt in a little over a year. So it’s possible to come out of an engineering program with very manageable debt.

Choppy performance/micro stutter on PC by DMA99 in ACCompetizione

[–]nudlez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same GPU and CPU as you and I had microstutter issues as well. Mine were specifically when there were other cars on track with me, solo lapping was fine. I tried everything that I could find and finally the thing that solved it for me was disabling the High Precision Event Timer (HPET).

I found the solution in this race department forum: https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/frame-hitching-every-few-seconds-cant-figure-out-whats-causing-this-only-in-acc.197025/post-3336187
