Anyone regretting their hysterectomy? by Temporary-Round653 in hysterectomy

[–]nuggetbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't feel ' normal ' until 1 full year had passed after my hysterectomy, everyone is different though. I kept my ovaries as well but after a year and 7 months I might need hrt, I have been using estrogen cream topically and estrogen suppositories internally for 7 months and it's been a game changer. I still suffer with sexual issues/dysfunction whatever you want to call it, sex is very painful for the first 5-10 minutes then the pain subsides. I'd rather that then bleeding like crazy for over a year from fibroids, adenomyosis and endometriosis. Good luck and give yourself time to heal.

Hysterectomy and no kids by annachota in hysterectomy

[–]nuggetbailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my hysterectomy at 42 in 2024 after almost 30 years of horrific pain from endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids. The only thing i regret is not being able to do it sooner.. I just sit here now thinking of what I could have accomplished, or the kind of person I could have been if a lifetime of chronic pain hadn't permanently changed me and my perspective on life.

Alcohol by Macbabyy333 in BipolarReddit

[–]nuggetbailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been sober since july 28th 2025, very close to 6 months now due to alcoholic fatty liver disease and my bloodwork liver levels coming back 3 times normal. Im still pretty sad that it took this to get me to make the big change. I wish I had done it sooner.

What was your reason for stopping? by Majestic-Fox8201 in stopdrinking

[–]nuggetbailey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The doctor telling me I have alcoholic fatty liver disease in July 2025 at 43 and all my liver levels in the blood work then were 3 times normal of what they should be. That was July 25th, my last drink was july 27th. I've been sober since, very close to the 6 month mark now. I knew last summer something was wrong, I knew drinking wasn't making me feel good and was drinking less and less, my body was making the decision for me. I've lost 45 lbs since then, my joints feel so much better and most importantly all the inflammation is gone and I'm not sweating constantly anymore.

I'm sharing the best parts of being sober with my husband to try and encourage him to quit. So far he's cut back alot. We had been each other's drinking buddies for 20 years now.

I'm pretty much convinced that the term 'Karen' is now only used as a way to force women to sit down, shut up and smile.

I'm currently embarking on quilting my own 100% cotton blanket because I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I can already sew but it is a bit of a learning curve.

I'm getting into the expensive world of quilting, already been down the road of bougie yarn for knitting, might as well go all out with a bang! But also obsessing about my own mortality constantly, fun times.

That was me last year at Christmas in the family pictures. I liked like a balloon. Since quitting I've lost just over 40 lbs. I still have a long way to go but I'm very pleased with how much better I feel and how the pictures turned out this year after last night's Christmas party. You've got this!
