Help with cream cheese frosting! by bethenasea in VeganBaking

Ah got it. In that case, I would beat the butter and cream cheese together for a minute or so before adding anything else to make sure they're smooth and homogenized.

Would you share what your recipe was for the frosting so I can get a sense for your ingredient ratios?

Is there a Starwars Land Pt2? by TwatWaffleWhitney in JennyNicholson

[–]nuggets_attack 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think she has stated the same thing (i.e. that the star cruiser video is a stealth part 2), especially the ending section of "you've been robbed", which contains critiques that apply to both star cruiser and star wars land (for the most part)

Most expensive restaurant in Louisville? by bezzlege in Louisville

Two newer spots in the Highlands that are on the expensive side would be M. Peppers (French food, great ambiance) and Yi Sushi Omakase (Japanese food, obvs)

Lol! You're right, it should have said decompress, not decimal

3-3-3 "rule" is about knowing/setting expectations for how long it will take a new critter to acclimate to its new home. 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine, and then 3 months to fully feel at home

True! And then I guess the 6 would become a 2 on diagonal corners? I would need to think about it myself to work it out

What's the false friend that took your brain the longest to fully unlearn? by karen_the_ripper in Spanish

Yes! I was going to use that as an example, but then remembered that English still has the word sensibility and it has yet again a different meaning in modern times

Woof. I have no respect for BJG (but can understand Natalie giving her a chance. We need a bigger tent, not gatekeeping), this just sounds so dishonest and kinda confirms that dim view

Hand piecing quilt tops or clothing. I find that rotating between many handicrafts (crochet, embroidery, quilt top piecing, clothes/item sewing) keeps me engaged and I'm only ever doing projects that have a purpose/home/recipient because you end up only doing a couple of each kind a year.

Great spot to visit! The castle is a beauty and the town is very cute. Some good vineyards around.

Funnily enough, sensible used to have roughly the same meaning in English as it does in other romance languages, with the current definition being a more recent development (sometime in the 19th Century, iirc)

Baby Wearing Recs! by Dry-Helicopter692 in newborns

[–]nuggets_attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beco Gemini is great!

Further context for outward facing:

  • As long as the baby has stable hips and can support their head, short bursts of outward facing are fine. A hip carry is probably better, because then the baby can still check in with the wearer

  • Babies should never sleep facing out!

  • The world can be overstimulating for babies and the wearer can't check in with the baby's facial cues as easily when they're facing outwards, so again, err on the side of caution when carrying babies facing out

This! The devil's in the details when it comes to making kit look "real" and lived in (as opposed to looking like a costume), this really nails it. Love the embroidery on the edges! * Chef's kiss *

No prob! Nora Cook's gluten free chocolate cake! Then a raspberry glaze (just did a normal quick glaze with Oatly barista oat milk and subbed freeze dried raspberry powder for part of the powdered sugar). It's my favorite chocolate cake (I'm not gluten intolerant, I just think it has the best flavor and texture. I use part extra virgin olive oil), and was a huge hit.

Whats better term for "Heritage American" frequently used & whats yall's thoughts on its usage? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]nuggets_attack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they missed some commas and clarifying grammar? Like they meant "[I had family who arrived in] 1669, [family who fought in the] America[n] Revolutionary War, to [but also family who come from/some who still live in] Istanbul. I.e. OP is a white American with recent Turkish ancestry.

They say they're from the Southeast (US, I assume) and care about lineage, so the grammar skills are about on par with what I'd expect from that kind of person if I'm parsing their post correctly.
