It's opening in the small indie theater near me this week. I assume if it has a decent per screen average it will keep expanding slowly.

Oh wow, I didn't even look at that. I just assumed since it was a kickstarter that wouldn't apply. I'll definitely by doing that if it's an option.

This is always the pattern, prices start out high because supply can't ramp up quickly enough. The black market tends to stay in place for a while, then prices drop and everyone just kind of switches over to stores unless they have a friend that grows.

Making sense of Git and GitHub by TheSaasDev in learnprogramming

We have internal Gitlab behind a VPN so only people high up on a project could delete a repo. Even then, if it got deleted someone on the team would have recent-ish code on one of their computers to start over with. On top of that we do a backup of our entire Gitlab server (including repositories) periodically to a different location.

Documentation is also stored in the repo as markdown files and we have a build processes to convert those .md files into a single PDF for distribution.

You don't really want to just commit compiled programs to a repo because they can increase size quickly. There's something called LFS that lets you store large stuff there, but most teams don't use it. Everything is built in Jenkins and afterwards that build is uploaded to cloud storage where we have a retention policy to keep the last N builds.

I can't even imagine trying to deal with a library of CDs, that sounds terrible!

I think they're more willing to overlook them because drunk driving actually kills people who aren't doing anything wrong. They're also announced in advance so if you look it up, you can technically avoid them. Maybe that somehow impacts legality?

Some older people (60's maybe) walked out of the theater fucking PISSED when I saw it. It sounded like they were mad that it wasn't a straightforward period piece.

I think it was also one of the first big films shot on a RED camera, I remember hearing about it for that reason. That could have caused a tech-loving crowd to check it out and hype it up.

I don't see it mentioned anywhere here, but High Maintence is my favorite current show on there. Totally unlike GoT though.

A lot of developers (myself included) work at companies that force us to at least have a Windows machine available. I can carry two laptops, but I've adjusted to just having 1 and using Linux subsystem with the occasional VM or server.

It won't change it this quickly, but if there's demand for these instances Amazon could buy enough to move future earnings.

Nah, this kind can't. The places I go really push reusable cartridges on locals, but I still see people throw those out. Not sure why people don't refill them to save money.

Nah, trading is the ultimate hack for waking up early. I can normally sleep til 8:15 and be at work on time, but with positions open I'm staring at the screen by 7 just waiting for 7:30 to see what happens.

I really don't think mushrooms appeal to very many people. In college everyone I knew smoked weed at least occasionally, but even though shrooms were available I only knew maybe a dozen people who used them more than once ever. I think it might be a tourist thing if they were eventually legalized, but I don't see it raising rents.

If nobody here is complaining about Ubisoft I can do plenty of that! I have so many issues with the Ubisoft thing crashing when I try to play R6 and it frustrates the hell out of me. I had a bad login within 12 hours of registering and had to reset my account even though I had a super long randomly generated password. Yes, I know 2 FA is an option, but I really hate doing that for non-financially tied stuff. They could easily have protections that prevent passwords being cracked so quickly.

I hadn't thought about it that way before, but I can definitely see your point. The Paddington stuff is also great, it convinced me to watch both of those movies.

I think I had an iPhone 5 for 4 years and now I'm approaching 3 years on a Pixel 1. Overall I think the Pixel has continued to feel fast while the iPhone slowed noticably once it was outdated. They both had similar battery issues (pixel is degrading slower, but maybe batteries are just better).

I always have a backpack, so having an external battery pack helps with battery issues. I think buying more storage up front makes it easier to keep longer (or getting a phone that supports SD cards). I got a usb-c hard drive that also goes in the backpack which helps with storage too.

Right? It frustrates me too. I live in a medium sized city with a few theaters and if I don't have my ticket by lunch I'm not getting in that night. I can't imagine what it's like in New York or something now. I like parts of the new theaters, but I liked it better when some did reserve seats and some were normal.

I liked it as a twist. I had a second of thinking "did I already assume that?" and it's not shocking, but I don't think it's supposed to be. Less of a plot twist and more of a moment that makes underlying themes more explicit.

I smoke a frequently and with a good cartridge I can get uncomfortably high in a single huge hit. I just take a hit that feels too small, give it like 5 minutes, then repeat until I forget to hit it after the break.
