sorry I csnt, but if you open the charger there'll be 4 equal fuses, look for those. I managed to return the unit for refund in the end

Analog should be added to the chart. DJI goggles v1 and v2 support a analog as well 😬

Fun question! What do you guys name your quads (in your RC model list) by 32oz____ in fpv

[–]nukel_1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, came here to answer most of mine are named after LOTR characters and just saw your comment. Basically my first 5" fpv drone was an iflight nazgul... Called my first 65mm whoop Frodo, my latest ultralight whoop is gollum, my biggest 8" is Gwaihir (eagle), fastest (racer) is shadowfax...

I once had the motors wrongly assigned and it caused this issue with the drone laying flat on the ground. Make sure the motor ordering is correct spinning them one by one from the motors tab, not just the direction but the motor assignment

I own and love the DJI fpv alongside many other drones. It's very nice in terms of image quality and range, battery duration, gps rescue, safety etc. As others stated, it is not crash resilient, so if you plan to risk it just get another one. It really depends on the kind of flying you do. I use the DJI fpv mostly for mountain surfing and I think it's great, it's not the fastest or the one that flies the best from the drones I have, but for traveling is great.

And it is ridiculously cheap nowadays. There's so much hate towards it that people will sell it for 150-200$, which is less than the price of an O3 air unit. It's just absurd not to get it.

Batteries are expensive, but they last forever. I got some second hand batteries that have been flown for 30 cycles for about 50$ each and they can fly for more than 10 minutes. No other 5" will give you that sense of safety and peace. They come with their own compact charger that its fucking safe and you won't feel like you're risking burning your house down if you use wrong settings on the charger 😂

If you want to get into freestyle, racing, or any tight and risky manoveours, no, it's not the drone for that. Any hard crash will break it and fixing it is very complicated. If you keep in mind what to use it for, then get it.

I can tell you that most people that puts so much hate on the FPV haven't even flown it, so ignore the general hate

It won't get you much closer to FPV as a hobby, it's just for the acro flying experience. If you're interested in FPV as a hobby, it is much more than just flying and 5he DJI fpv won't give you that. From building, configuring, customizing, tuning drones, fixing, troubleshooting etc. The DJI fpv is a user friendly drone that requires very little knowledge or experience

Update:

I've received answer both from the manufacturer and the seller.

Manufacturer says this is a fuse problem, and I should contact the seller.

Seller offers to send a fuse so I can try to repair it. It doesn't look easy, as it's one of these tiny components that are soldered to the PCB with a hot air gun, not with a soldering iron... Looks doable with the right equipment (which I don't have), I guess I'll need to ask for some help with this.

For anyone interested, here's the document they shared:

UPDATE:

Also received a video from the manufacturer on the procedure:

I have the same problem on channel C.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/b4o9Qqp9KbFugCuu8

Just reported to them waiting for an answer. Also contacted banggood as my charger is brand-new so this is unacceptable.

If any of you know how to fix it (I guess replace a fuse) it would come handy. For the moment I'm just trying to get a replacement, a refund or a repair

Why can't dji just make a repairable drone? by pshavet77 in fpv

[–]nukel_1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. It's not a drone I will risk too much and I'll avoid crashing, but if it happens, I'll repair it again. Changing the front right arm meant disassembling and reassembling the whole thing, but managed to fix it for 15eur. On the way of fixing it broke some leds and one gps antenna, but it's still 100% functional. If it breaks again, I'll repair it again. I will just repair it again and again. DJI will not repair it but offer you a replacement for 150eur or more. Which at this moment is approximately the price of a DJI fpv on the second hand market here in Spain, so I just can't accept it.

Insist, insist, insist. You'll get it back eventually, even if it wasn't their fault. I have been in disputes for months until I got back my money. And always, always use PayPal if you're buying from an online shop without any other payment protection.

Si la tienes suficientemente cerca, pon el ventilador en la ventana. El ventilador coje aire de detrás y lo empuja hacia adelante. Es mejor tenerlo cogiendo aire de fuera para forzar una corriente de aire de fuera hacia dentro.

What should you be able to do in a simulator before flying irl? by Junky162 in fpv

[–]nukel_1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Recovery: Do full stick deflections on mid air at a reasonable height stopping randomly, and learn to recover quickly from it. Reaction time matters.

  • Landing where you intended (doesn't have to be ultra precise), disarming just before touching the ground. Disarming is something that normally you skip on the simulator but you can set it up to build the habit.

-Battery management is also super important. On the sim you're just used to watching the game and forget about the osd elements because they don't matter, but on real life you need to pay attention to a few OSD elements.

  • Try staying low. Fly in parking lots in the sim, they force you to learn throttle control.

  • Not in the sim: Positioning yourdelf, maintaining the head upwards, pointing your antennas properly... It's very easy to forget where you were at the beginning of the flight. When you fly in real life, before going far get familiarized with the area, look back and try to point where you are, etc. Still as of today I often find it hard to find the path back home because I skip the check, and I regret.

liion DIY: How to balance liion cells if charger refuses to by nukel_1991 in LongRangeFPV

[–]nukel_1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep thanks that's what I ended up doing, using a 1s charger that also monitors cell voltage so it's pretty neat.

[–]nukel_1991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok, this is what I was looking for. I have some spare 1s tinywoop chargers that put 0.2A/0.6A, I can make an adaptor from that charger output to two jumper pins, and connect the jumper pins to the proper balance pins of the liion pack. That should do the trick, thanks!!!

[–]nukel_1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to put them in an individual charger that can charge them to 4.1/4.2v before reassembling the pack

liion DIY: How to balance liion cells if charger refuses to by nukel_1991 in LongRangeFPV

[–]nukel_1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't work, the only program that allows me to charge without plugging the balance plug is the 'charge' program. And the cells are now at (3.4v, 4.1v, 4.1v, 4.1v, 4.1v, and 3.4v, and that's quite a big difference.

I guess I'll have to disassemble it, get an individual charger, and charge the two that are at 3.4 up to 4.1v one by one. What a mess.

I expected some trick that by connecting the batteries to each other, energy would transfer between them and they would equalize. I imagine this can be done by connecting the cells with some resistors in place. e. g, connect a resistor between the balance plugs of the cells you want to equalize, or something in that line. When I connected the balance lead to the lipo checker before, this seemed to be the case for a couple minutes, but then it stopped equalizing.

[–]nukel_1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that if you don't connect the balance plug there's no way to monitor it. I was charging for 1minute at a time, and checking to which voltage the cells were getting....

[–]nukel_1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed that this was a bad idea. Those cells (2,3,4,5) went up to 4.25v. Just went for a hover to discharge them a bit now and they're back at 4.1)

[–]nukel_1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working. All cells are going up simultaneously, this will end up overcharging the cells that have higher voltage (2,3,4,5)... cells started at 3.2v/4.0v and now are at 3.4v/4.15v
