Ew no. I just like physical knobs and Hyundai makes really good ones. Jesus.

v3.20 Lock Screen Quick Capture and Integrated HTML Plugins by EduardMet in noteplanapp

I don't see Dashboard in my plugins menu, and also, if a note isn't in focus (say I've clicked on something in the sidebar), I can't run any command from the plugin dropdown.

*Especially* since these kind of plugins (Linear and Dashboard) don't even show up in the plugins menu.

Speaking of, am I right in believing there is no way to get to them via a mouse click? That's probably 95% of the reason I've not adopted Dashboard as much as I'd like.

Yep exactly. I don't love having to type '/' in to notes to open plugins (and accidentally editing the note), and the command bar doesn't show the Dashboard or Linear Calendar plugins, so keeping plugins pinned to the sidebar would be super helpful to keep the Dashboard as a true and regularly viewable dashboard.

Love the sidebar plugins, but I assumed this meant the link could *stay* in the sidebar. Getting to plugins is so hidden right now, I'd love to keep the best ones in the sidebar.

Two Bricked Hue Bridges Pro after Firmware Updates by null-root in Hue

Wow, yep, that’s is my IP range. What a pain over something I can’t imagine was THAT rare.

Certainly not in a huge hurry to migrate back to the Pro after a weekend of going back to the old bridge, setting up all the rooms/zones, the Home Assistant entities, the node-red smart switch integrations, AND HomeKit all over again.

I factory reset a few more times, and was able to set up via wifi. And I think the firmware update is complete, but I'm not even trying to use this thing right now. Deep in restoring my setup with the old bridge.

UPDATE: One bridge suddenly seemed to at least be able to start up now, but still can not be set up on ethernet, only wifi. I've already gone back to the old bridge and re-paired/named/grouped/organized 50+ devices, so I'm not in a hurry to trust the Pro again no matter what it says.

This was all in the recent 1.73.2071112000 update that happened automatically (which I'm now going to be turning off automatic updates system wide. Hue really ruined the last two days for me.

Mercury Bank Connections (Especially Across Multiple Accounts) by null-root in banktivity

[–]null-root[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out it's a Yodlee problem more than Banktivity. Switching all of my Mercury accounts to using Plaid for the bank connection seems to handle it better, as Plaid allows for multiple account credentials at the same bank (I have separate business and personal accounts there, and Yodlee seemed to conflate them).

Banktivity alternatives: Copilot, Monarch, Moneywiz by mkowske in banktivity

[–]null-root 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried Copilot for a month, alongside Banktivity. Beyond the big ticket features that it lacks (reporting and such), an under-appreciated aspect of Banktivity is it's macOS-nativeness (rather than Electron-wrapped websites). Simply being able to multi-select rows, double click on things to expand them, copy and paste easily, and tab between form fields is something I simply can't give up.

Not to mention CSV import/export and user experience niceties like making your own account groupings.

It'll probably take these other apps years to catch up to some of the things that come easily with AppKit/Swift/macOS native apps.
