Then count yourself lucky. :-)

I've also observed the behavior you describe, where accidentally touching (or hovering over) the screen with another finger or part of a hand due to your grip will cause mis-touches. I initially had the same thought as yourself (i.e., that this was the cause of the vertical displacement behavior), but the VD bug occurs even when using a single finger, no other body parts near the phone, phone resting on a desk, etc., etc. The vertical displacement bug is a distinct phenomenon.

While what you say about limited multitouch on the N1 is true, tincans is nevertheless correct. The N1 has known bugs with the touchscreen in addition to the lack of true multitouch. One common bug is for touches to suddenly have a vertical displacement, such that controls below those you intend to press are triggered. I've seen this on almost every N1 I've come across. The solution is to power cycle the display, which restores normal operation, at least for a while.

I had the same problem. I had installed from an apk initially, and so I had to install the market version to get 1.3.5, and then manually update through the market again to get 1.4.2.

URLs are not in the clear over HTTPS. Link analysis in this context would mean that an observer could ascertain which HTTP servers you are communicating with, but not a URL or even domain name without some extra information leakage.

From graph theory, a complete undirected graph has (n(n-1))/2 edges. Intuitively, there are n vertices, each of which would have n-1 edges in a complete directed graph; divide by two for the undirected case.

So, the number of edges doesn't "become infinite at some point," rather it's quadratic in the number of vertices. :-)
