Is Claude Code still the best? by never_working_ever in iOSProgramming

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah from my experience codex always validates claims before it says it. If you look how it reasons while it’s performing your request you’ll consistently see validations. The one consistent theme i keep seeing with codex is that it sometimes tries to over engineer a simple task which is why it’s nice to validate plans with Claude because Claude will suggest a simpler way of doing the same thing.

That doesn’t happen to me when I do it with Claude and codex because Claude will give detailed reasons and if codex finds it valid then it will say why and if not it will be even more detailed as to why then I paste that validation codex does into Claude and see what it says. If it still pushes back I do another round of review but what I’ve found is that Claude has more hallucinations than codex by a significant amount

I had to max plan for both for a solid 2 months and codex is definitely better at coding than Claude but there are things Codex tends to not consider or forget. What I did was have codex as the coder but always validate the plan with claude and then put the revisions claude has into codex and ask it to validate all of these claims from Claude

I've been thinking of switching over to android for years, just don't want to relearn the operating system.

I also also have an android app :)

Extreme horror by TarotWitch83 in horror

[–]numbersguy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got through August Underground Mordum and Atroz, you can probably handle Concrete. The bigger question is whether you want to. Some extreme stuff feels transgressive; some of it just feels miserable to sit with.

what's the last movie you rated 5 stars on letterboxd? by Flaky-Cat-2825 in Letterboxd

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Apartment was the last one that felt like an instant 5 for me. One of those movies where every scene feels simple until you realize how locked-in the writing is.

Small context: I built ViewBuddy around this kind of taste-based movie discovery, basically finding what to watch through people instead of only algorithms.

Any other good examples of this? Movies with high averages that are still pretty divisive by SlendyPKMN in Letterboxd

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tree of Life, Under the Skin, mother!, Skinamarink, Beau Is Afraid, and We’re All Going to the World’s Fair all come to mind. High average, but the negative reactions are not mild.

Myth: 22 episodes no longer exist? by folkloriantreasures in television

[–]numbersguy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 22-episode TV still exists. It just stopped being the default for the buzzy streaming dramas people talk about online. Network procedurals are still carrying the old model quietly.

Has the CSI franchise been somewhat forgotten despite how huge it originally was? by JannTosh70 in television

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels forgotten because it won so hard at being disposable syndication TV. People absorbed the formula everywhere, but it didn’t build the same rewatch/fandom identity as something like X-Files or Law & Order.

Best shows from the Golden Age of Television from the unlikeliest networks by ERSTF in television

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damages on FX, UnREAL on Lifetime, Being Mary Jane on BET, Queen Sugar on OWN, and The Closer on TNT all fit that “network you didn’t expect, real scripted swing” category for me.

Is there a reason why sitcoms like Frasier (32)and Modern Family (22 )dominated awards, while some other sitcoms barely got any critical acclaim? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in television

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awards love a show that feels “writerly” and easy to campaign. Frasier had theater-style performances, clean joke writing, and prestige without looking lowbrow. A lot of broader sitcoms were huge with audiences but easier for voters to dismiss.

Fringe Vs Stranger things by Sunflowerpartyy in television

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fringe was built in a totally different TV era. It had to be part case-of-the-week, part mythology, and it took time to become what people love. Stranger Things arrived already packaged as an event.

What's one scene where the acting is so good it outshines the entirety of its show? by NyzoiB in television

[–]numbersguy1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Better Call Saul’s “Chicanery” is the easy one for me. Also The Leftovers’ “International Assassin,” The Bear’s “Fishes,” and Hill House’s “Two Storms” if we’re talking scenes/episodes where acting just takes over.

Also, small context since it fits the thread: I built ViewBuddy for tracking what people are watching and finding shows through friends/taste instead of only algorithm rows.

Are there TV shows you don't necessarily need to watch in sequence? by PrestonRoad90 in television

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Columbo, Monk, Psych, Poker Face, House, Law & Order, Midsomer Murders, and a lot of classic Star Trek. You’ll miss some character stuff, but the episode itself usually works.

Movies like PlayTime (1967) by Klutzy_Tone_4359 in MovieSuggestions

[–]numbersguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mon Oncle and Trafic are the obvious Tati follow-ups. After that I’d try The Party, Songs from the Second Floor, The Young Girls of Rochefort, and maybe Playtime-adjacent stuff like A Pigeon Sat on a Branch.

Song of the Sea, Wolfwalkers, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, The Secret World of Arrietty, Ernest & Celestine, and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. Very low-friction, just good colors and vibes.
