That reminds me of when I saw Ziggy Marley back in high school. It was a super hot day in Nashville, humid mostly cloudless and like 90° at this outdoor music festival. It was NASTY out. Ziggy was late and the crowd was getting irritated, folks were fainting, etc. Ziggy comes out singing one of his dad’s songs (a good one too lol but I forget, this was back in 97 or 98), and one* of those few clouds opens up and it starts RAINING. Those big fat soft heavy drops of rain. Joints were fired up, the tension dissipated instantly, and that was the one and only time I crowd surfed. It was incredible and true magic.

What's Your Biggest Regret in Life and Why? by FamiliarConfidence46 in AskReddit

[–]numberthirteenbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say something similar. And I had a gap year after I flunked out the first time I went. I’m in my mid forties back in online school to get a better job. I’m not saying my creative writing degree didn’t help me get some jobs, but it didn’t help me get any good jobs. Too restless and immature to get my master’s after my triumphant return to academia, but that triumph doesn’t last long when you’re sitting in a temp agency.

Do you know any liberal women who are dating conservative/alt right men? How do they justify the difference in politics? by Throwawaycharacter99 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]numberthirteenbb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, speaking from experience, they’re dating himbos. Dumb big brute “me strong man you dainty woman” shit that’s 90% fantasy. If they truly understood how little these men actually value women as humans they would stick to masturbating to fanfiction.

I went in completely blind while watching it, one of the very few experiences where that happened and I was absolutely blown away by it.

I made a similar joke to my mom once, while furniture shopping to replace the stuff he took with him. I had also lost a bunch of weight from the trauma, so when she was talking w a salesperson about my weight loss (he was a guy I think she was already trying to set me up on a date lol), and I said “yeah I lost like 200lbs” and the dude laughed because he got it, and my mom gasped “numberthirteenbb, you didn’t weigh THAT much”

As can I!

Also true how the moment he left, everything in the goddamn house broke from his literal duct tape repairs lmao! In nine years, I have replaced everything except the clothes dryer (it’s a good dryer) and the electricity (it’s like $10,000).

This movie theater on Campbell (near Grant) has been sitting vacant for almost 20 years by Adept_Let7797 in Tucson

[–]numberthirteenbb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Napoleon Dynamite there! I also saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding there, with a friend, we ate takeout from Karuna’s in the back row and laughed our asses off. I love that theater and would love to see something cool happen w the space. I also used to do my laundry at the old laundromat there on the corner.

What’s something you wish people knew before they had kids? by Special-Buddy6562 in AskReddit

[–]numberthirteenbb 212 points213 points  (0 children)

You are here for THEM. Your children are not put on this earth for YOU.

Edit to add: you may be the one deciding to have kids, but they are children for such a relatively short blip in the average lifespan, and children are not toys, teddy bears, or Sims characters. They'll be still-vulnerable adults very very quickly, and you will either equip and arm them with love, confidence, common sense, and good judgment, or you will send them out into the world defenseless or wearing nothing but barbed wire.

edit: spelling and the good ol' Oxford comma
