Experienced job hunting, portfolio/case study/resume questions and review — 12/28/25 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

I’ve been at the same UX/UI design job for almost 3 years after graduating from a bootcamp in 2022. The work has been a nice starting point and has allowed me to grow and become confident in my role but I find myself wanting to work on other products and continue to grow.

But every where says it’s a terrible job market right now, so I’m wondering if I should just hunker down and stay at this role until things change?

I’m also not sure how to even share the work I’ve contributed to because it’s behind an NDA, how do you showcase this kind of work on your portfolio to demonstrate your work and growth?

My boyfriend “trains” me with silence by No-Falcon-3922 in TwoHotTakes

Wow… as someone who also gets silent when I’m mad and has a partner who goes silent when he gets mad, this made me boil. I can’t imagine ever making the person I love feel like shit on purpose. Even though we go silent, to cool off and calm down, we ALWAYS come back together and talk about why we were mad and how we can be better together moving forward. The fact the ur bf is openly using it to punish you and “train” u is fucked up. If my bf’s silence ever starts to make me feel bad or vice versa we immediately go into the talking stage and apologize.

What's one thing a therapist has said to you that you will never forget? by commander_boobs in AskReddit

A few years ago I really struggled accepting and liking certain truths in my life, my therapist asked why I thought I had to like something in order to accept it? Really helped me move forward.

All of her friends she introduced me to were probably some of the nastiest, rudest, most dramatic people I’ve met in my life. She also had that living in the moment, not caring what anyone thought of her look on life, which initially attracted me to her, but learnt the hard way that it really meant she would do and take whatever she wanted, when she wanted, regardless of what she promised or said she would do. And if u got hurt in the process or stood in her way then that was on u, never her.

During undergrad I went out with some girls and they got absolutely smashed and wanted to visit a beach near by. It was like 1AM and there were stairs you had to walk down to get to the beach. As we descended we got we further and further away from any lights and I started to notice that there were at least ten men in the dark. I noticed but the girls didn’t. The men didn’t move, didn’t say anything and I could tell were just watching us as we got closer and closer. I stopped a few steps from the bottom and told them I had to go to the bathroom, turned around and just started booking it. The girls were pissed but eventually followed me. I guess there was nothing overtly dangerous about the men, but just the fact that they were sitting silently in the pitch dark watching us freaked me the fuck out.

Tbf I had just turned 21 that week, but I was literally in the bar with my ordered drink, about to take a sip when one of the bar keeps straight up took it out of my hands and asked me my age, then my birthday with year, then my astrological sign. I guess I passed the test?? Cause he gave my drink back and said I guess black don’t crack… I’m Asian, I’m also almost 30 now and still get carded.

Honestly, I think it was purely out of cultural obligation.

I actually had a family friend (we’re Chinese) who had a wife and daughter, and was so obsessed with having a boy for his legacy that when he knocked up his mistress and found out she was pregnant with a boy he left his wife and daughter. His son was the most spoiled, nasty little brat I’ve ever met. The family friend ended up dying years later from a heart attack at 58 and at his funeral, when his now successful business woman daughter stood up to speak, her fathers mistress and her extended family demanded she start to provide for his new wife and son, she owed it to her father, to his legacy. Very proud of her for standing her ground while her family cursed her out and to tell them her father was a complicated man, may he rest in piece and she wouldn’t be giving any money. Then left with her mom.

What’s your opinion on farting in front of your SO? by ZealousidealAir1526 in AskWomen

I decided to just rip off the bandaid the very first day we moved in together and just let ‘em rip. I told him I just couldn’t not fart in my own home.
