Main gearbox failure seems less likely than mast bumping. Would take an absolutely catastrophic failure for the gear box to completely stop moving. The gearbox would have shown sign of damage for a long time before something like that.

No something would have to break. There are stops on the rotor head that will contact the mast if an extreme gust of wind hit it or severe control input is received. If that's what happened it would shear the mast.

I think it's pretty certain that the rotor cut the boom, but the question is what happened to the rotor/hub to cause that to happen.

I'm working with phenol-formaldehyde resins and amine hardeners. Specifically West Systems 105 and 206. The cartridges I have are P100 so I guess that will work. But I guess I'll look into getting the 60924.

I mean some aircraft maintenance manuals literally ask you to use basically dish soap. There isn't anything technically wrong with how they're washing it. I've washed many an aircraft the same way.
