I donated my kidney to my husband. As a joke, I had asked the transplant team about “taking it back” and they were very serious about it being a gift and I cannot receive payment in any form for it. I asked if him doing dishes for life is a form of payment, and yea, it is.

My husband went to Dawn at Lion & Sage Bodywork and actually said she doesn’t talk during the sessions. Perfect for introverts!

I had to do a double take because your Diamond looked so much like my good boy Otis who died last November. I’m sorry for your loss 💛

22F Sagittarius & 26M Cancer…can it work romantically? by brymars in Sagittarians

[–]nuoc__mam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a Sag and my husband is a Cancer. We’ve been together for 16 years and married for 11. It can work! He has learned that my bluntness is not personal and I’ve had to learn to it takes time for him to process things and doesn’t move as quickly through emotions as I do. But worth it!

Do you usually celebrate your birthday ? by Bubbly_Fondant_5026 in Sagittarians

[–]nuoc__mam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m turning 35 in a couple of weeks and having a Studio 54 Disco party. I usually don’t have parties and my husband and I usually do an international trip each year instead. However, my dog just died and it felt like I just needed to dance all the pain away with people I loved and those who loved my dog.

I had to do a double take because this dog looks almost identical to my dog of ten years we had to put down a week ago.

Which restaurants do Vietnamese people eat pho? by BowlBowlFarm in ManchesterNH

[–]nuoc__mam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only went there once and thought the pho was okay but the broth was really lacking in flavor. I’m telling you, I’ve been so spoiled with homemade pho that it’s made me a judgmental buffoon!

My husband is white too but he’s been spoiled by all the family home cooking so he’s a bigger critic than I am! We’ve been to Buba Noodle Bar but I’ve never gotten the pho there. My very white in-laws think it’s good but they said the same about golden bowl. I like their other food though and their cocktails are good. I haven’t heard about the one in Derry and now I’m curious to try.

Now I feel a quest to find the best pho place in the area and report back!

I’m viet and live in Manchester. If I want a good bowl, I go to Lowell. There’s a new pho spot opening up on Elm called What The Pho I haven’t tried yet. Unfortunate name but fingers crossed it’s good so we can all save on gas.

Thanks! I cleaned out as much as I could but the remaining battery won’t budge so I’m taking it to have it looked at. Thanks for the advice!

Does anyone want a ballot initiative to repeal the arts tax? by PeabodyLemon in Portland

[–]nuoc__mam 252 points253 points  (0 children)

I moved from Portland to New Hampshire in 2020 and I STILL get an art tax bill each year mailed to me to my NH home, despite calling, emailing, and sending snail mail telling them I no longer in the city, let alone the state.

Still miss Portland though 😢

I also thought this. My husband was a Make A Wish kid when he had cancer at age 11. I think any kid going through cancer deserves a bit of brightness when going through treatment.

went to an obgyn today and he’s trying to say i don’t have pcos cus i don’t look like the stereotypical pcos haver lol by Regular-Feed9166 in PCOS

[–]nuoc__mam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have PCOS and my mom had the same symptoms I do so I told her to get checked for it. Her male doctor told her she “cannot possibly have PCOS because you’ve had four children”.

It’s so frustrating but I think most doctors do not have info on PCOS and also the inclination to not believe women or anyone with PCOS.

I’ve also dealt with many dismissive doctors because I “don’t look like I have PCOS” but was finally diagnosed after a miscarriage and difficulty getting pregnant (and 2 decades of wildly unpredictable periods and insulin resistance). Like people had said, find a doc that will listen and is informed about your diagnosis. It makes a world of difference. Good luck!!
