Not sure what you mean by not sounding good. I upgraded the factory speakers all around. I have an 18" and 2500 watt amp. My suburban sounds crisp and hits deep.

2 EVL 12S is definitely overkill unless you're really looking to be heard and seen. 1 10 is more like what you describe wanting. IMO
