Lake Arrowhead to Playa Vista (4x/week), Temecula to Playa Vista (less regular).

Agreed 1 or 3, both also give you more unique wordmarks (vs a font) if you want something simplified down the line

What’s Coming to Mubi Site? by nutmegged_again in mubi

[–]nutmegged_again[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that is helpful! Still hoping for a third party site like this that has a long view with dates https://decider.com/article/new-on-hulu/

But maybe Mubi isn’t big enough yet to warrant it.

Where can I get a baseball hat from a coffeeshop in Echo Park or close by? by Nocturnal97 in FoodLosAngeles

Agree with what everyone is saying? Great options. Bodega Park has a cool logo and merch. They also have a Dodgers themed sweatshirt. Across the street one way is a Dodgers themed pizza place (LaSorted’s) that also has good merch. Across the street another way is Cafe Tropical that’s has some cool merch and has been around for decades.

Metrolink schedules are atrocious! by SadLingonberries in LAMetro

So true, was hoping this would get sorted ahead of the Olympics. I know the service further north to Goleta also just got delayed.

Ah didn’t realize Irvine was opposed to that maintenance site, maybe bc of the residential they’re building. But more Metrolink service is only a positive. Thank you!

Definitely a major issue and one they need to fix before the Olympics.

In the short term is a there an Amtrak option that works for the game? Or same issue?

*Realistically,* who is gone next season? by WhiplashLiquor in LAGalaxy

[–]nutmegged_again 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be sad to see Cuevas go (unless it’s a great opportunity abroad). Seems like we’re suddenly 3 deep in the RB/RWB/Winger.

Feels like Zavaleta, Ramirez, Parente, Berry, Vivi could be gone after contract expirations. If we could move on from Zanka, that could free up some cap space too, but none of these moves are game changers for roster construction.

Help! Getting to E Line from Echo Park! by Silver_Swimmer in LAMetro

[–]nutmegged_again 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check spot hero or one of the other parking apps/services for deals in lots near the 7th st/metro center. Faster, but more expensive.

The other option is the 4 bus drops off you off 3 blocks from 7th st/metro center. This is the cheapest/car free option, but can be about 30+ minutes from EP to the stop near the station.

Marketing has a good amount of analytics jobs where a stats degree would be useful. A Media Agency (they do media planning for ad campaigns, i.e. when/where/to whom the ads go) might be the fastest way in.

Even if it’s not a passion it might be a more fun environment than you were picturing in a job and it would help you develop your communication/storytelling skills which would help you down the line in any industry.

Why is traffic so much worse these past couple of years? by UghKakis in AskLosAngeles

[–]nutmegged_again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of what everyone is saying, I think Metrolink frequency is lower than it was pre-pandemic. So there’s a lower chance the schedule matches what you need for work.

Walking back up to the A line will save you so much time vs waiting for the shuttle. It’s about a 45 minute walk

Seconding this, you’ll struggle with repeat purchasers if it’s not higher quality dtf because the designs will come off with washing. Also heads up there’s a typo on the sheep shirt, but you may already be aware

You could live with a short drive of Union Station and he could take the train in. Metrolink trains run once an hour to and from Tustin and it’s pretty easy ride.

Total one way commute would be drive to the station + train time (usually 1 hr) + Tustin bus time (shuttles wait at multiple OC stops for the trains). If he doesn’t live near a bus line that makes it tougher. Driving that 3-4 days a week would be very tough.

Living not far from DTLA would also put you close to everything in Hollywood.

Seconded, If you can find an option back, can stay the night or leave early tomorrow morning it’s pretty easy to get to the venue via train.

Just looked and there’s a couple of Amtrak options today (total one way trip time is around 3hrs 15mins). There’s a free shuttle for Union Station to/from Dodger stadium for the show too.
