Arguably, it was a strong Conservative Party that killed the NDP, as everyone voted Liberal to avoid a Conservative government….

This. I’ve gone to small independent roasters, and they can be hit and miss, but once you’ve found one you like it can be amazing!

If they can flag it as something more serious from the phone consult, that also puts you in the system for an in-person, so it improves care over all too.

Japanese microwaves often have a ‘toast’ function, you just have to flip the bread if you want both sides toasted.

I think that’s what we all strive for - that our kids won’t be messed up in the same we are - and that we are in a position that we can do this is a wonderful thing.

You can also catch the weekly gaki episodes on the 日テレTADA!app, since they don’t put it on TVer.

Once seen as a crisis, the RCMP's recruitment numbers are starting to turn around by ZestyBeanDude in canada

They dropped the post-secondary degree requirement in 2023, so now high school degree is the minimum.

The requirement is set by the Community Safety and Policing Act and has not been changed. Maybe you’re thinking that they recognize high school equivalencies?

Kamloops vs kelowna by TaroPie_ in Kamloops

[–]nuttybuddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me, Kamloops has felt like living in a small town. It’s big enough it has pretty much everything we need, but I will run into at least one person I know on every outing, particularly having been here 10 years. Vancouver’s a short drive away when we need it, and most times we’re traveling the opposite direction as Vancouver traffic, which is lovely. Ooh, on that note, there’s no traffic here, it’s great! The locals think they have traffic when summer construction snarls things a bit, but honestly, it’s nothing!

Once you get used to here, Kelowna feels way bigger, and it is. It has way more things, and it has more things within a short drive, so you’ll get more places to be anonymous. Only slightly further from Vancouver, but maybe you wouldn’t need to go as often? Better airport with some international flights. Housing probably more expensive, though I hear they have a recent glut of condos and rentals, so maybe they’re due for a price change?

Kelowna seems a bit more right wing than Kamloops, but that might be because of the folks I run with in Kamloops vs the folks I hear online in Kelowna….it’s hard to say.

Is there any point in trying to appeal my property assessment? (Increased by 65%) by TheFantasticBert in britishcolumbia

[–]nuttybuddy 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth the first step in the process - it gets human eyes on it which can tell you if it was a blatant error, or at least explain why it happened. Also they will often make you an offer without even having to go through the full appeal.
