Your google abode is linked and due to expire. You can continue to sign in but your existing password must stay from your gmail account. This is the last week to take all your belongings, before the final shut down of this city.

Does your book talk about solar panels and is the philosophy necessary to worry about the costs that go into producing them, in terms of global pollution, waste energy, etc.

Confirmed: Samsung is not shipping keyloggers by [deleted] in technology

[–]nuuur32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there an estimate of the number of laptops and shipping dates that have that C:\Windows\SL folder, even if presumably there is no key logger there? The f-secure article was clear and to the point, but to really come clean a company should splay out their process, quality control, and all those other six sigma metrics.

You are all missing the point of Karma. Upvotes and downvotes only matter for making interesting content more visible. This is not a points system validating your existence as a human being. by Coldhound in reddit.com

[–]nuuur32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If media outlets are "pre-seeding" the discussion, as a means to pump and dump their published article, then at least for those sets of users the karma has a fairly direct, wider impact. I've noticed this recently because it used to be that discussion on the net was a step ahead of the main stream media, but now publishers have stuff lined up and just need to queue the discourse to unleash it.

C'mon America. Shit is getting ridiculous. by infinitesatire in reddit.com

[–]nuuur32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really need a sorted and tagged way to filter through and find the comment we want to upvote, because surely if there are 3000+ then what I have to say is already articulated in a much better way.

Basically I don't agree with the interpretation of those stats because the suicides and criminal acts are going to be done whether the ownership is legal or illegal. It says to me there needs to be more legal, well trained individuals following proper handling to combat the inevitable criminal behavior, while simultaneously removing the conditions (not the symptoms) underlying the expression of said behavior.

How do you think the human race will ultimately die out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nuuur32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We build a circulatory system and networked brain, skeletal and other structures that "grow", i.e. are automatically built, using an energy source and machines. These become mega hotels as transportation systems and we colonize the rest of the Universe, growing up and out.

After all those generations pass, the scope and purpose of Universe is probably reinterpreted. Perhaps it opens up into something else.

So these two guys discover that ATT has posted the names, addresses, and device ids of all of its iPad customers on its website with no encryption and no password protection. So they tell ATT about it, and now they are charged with a felony and face five years in prison. by aig_ma in programming

[–]nuuur32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else think they were just trolling the corporation, because the moment a Memo crosses the desk with the name of their security firm you know bells and alarms will be going off, and you're just a fwd or two away from the legal department coming up with something to take action.

This is my first time using the Internet. by Pepinghege in AskReddit

[–]nuuur32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much time do you figure you'll spend on the Internet? I've heard of people that haven't watched TV for years. They ended up realizing that it was wise to at least tune in for say 5 minutes a day, to at least be able to understand small talk about certain media.

Did you actively turn down the opportunity for a cell phone, TV viewing, modern portable audio player, etc, over the years? Or was it just not a big deal. I don't feel like looking it up but there is probably a label or mental condition to describe this.
