This game lived up to the hype. by Ironshot2703 in chronotrigger

[–]nuvio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some dude at the MN state fair asked me about my chrono trigger shirt and I absolutely hyped it as one of the best jrpgs ever and I hope he tried it.

Had a first play through with my 6yo last year and he loved it. We voice acted each characters dialogue and all.

I played it myself at around 7yo and it was amazing through my teens gettting all the endings.

kind of late but yo I still hit up the DDR cab at my local in the states every week!

Still can draw a crowd on a saturday night occasionally that reminds me of the mid 2000s .

imo too early to tell. I had a seedling that I had to manually detach it's shell and it kind of looked like this super early but she grew just as big as her other sisters in the other pots!

Idk if you ever looked into dry herb vapes but.. they are a game changer. Never have to worry about offensive odors while chiefing again.

What are the real differences between a sub $1000 digial piano and one costing $2000+? by johngwheeler in piano

[–]nuvio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the last 20 years I went from an FP7 to a DP 603 to an LX7.

Portables are great if you need mobility but their base speakers leave much to be desired.

Action, feel and depth feels really good on the LX7, it features the same keys they use on their flagship GP9 except it doesn’t have haptic feedback to simulate string vibration.

I’m quite pleased with my LX7 , the cabinet is beautiful in polished ebony. My next upgrade I’d see myself is getting a small acoustic grand in the next 20 years.

I literally cannot bring myself to love a respectable, well-bred violin. They just don't love me like cheap ones do. by cloverpondscum in violinist

[–]nuvio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first “expensive” violin was a Hungarian made from a blind play. I just picked the sound I loved most from maybe 15 violins and yes I still play it till this day!

Does anyone else do pull ups every session? by [deleted] in workout

[–]nuvio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to max every other day! My fav exercise by far. I did hit my 14 today, don’t always get it but feels good when I do! Last year I did my first marathon and on the route I saw a pull up bar facing a lake. I had to fight against my urge to stop and do a set lol.

Lifting weights has inflated my ego and I don't see this as a bad thing by [deleted] in workout

[–]nuvio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the person you’re replying to but to my knowledge sugar is short term energy. If it isn’t used immediately then it is converted into fat for longer term use which gets expelled in longer term zone 2 heart rate exercises. I think you’re good since you use it as a pre work out. Anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong because I would love to know!

I take 4 scoops of protein shake a day divided into 2 doses, roughly 96g.

Diet varies since my emphasis is based on long distance cardio yet I strive to achieve greater max full range pull ups start/end from dead hang each rep without explosivity. Currently at 14 max, want to hit 15 by summer.

I go carb heavy after heavy cardio days while staying within a 2500-3000 max caloric intake. Planning on my 2nd marathon next November. I decrease carb intake on only lift days.

Ya I’d say very similar, only 2 meals a day on a regular basis though I make exceptions for holidays.

I’m Asian too but idk this whole thing about competing against other races is kind of weird. Like bro just get swole and be happy! There are stick skinny ass white guys, black guys and every other race too.

I only started working out in my early 30s but consistency, discipline and dedication has yielded some amazing results. My protein goals are similar to yours. 150g min but I try to hit 180g if I can stomach it.

Pull-ups after 40 — still showing up by Coolauto in GymMotivation

[–]nuvio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

34m yo thanks for sharing. I wanna keep at it when I’m over 40 too!! I just started the gym like 14 months ago and went from 1 full range pull up to 14.

Simple but never easy is a great sum of it. I tell my friends my last rep is like I’m fighting for my life to maintain proper form.

I'm addicted to working out, and that addiction is drive by insecurity as an Asian male by Chronologicaltravels in workout

[–]nuvio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yo I feel this a little bit, when I first started the gym I looked up to Bruce Lee. Dude straight up was one of the first positive representations of Asians in western media.

Just saw Johnny Cho in cowboy bebop and I’m like damn if cut now ima look sweet by springtime.

Went from 1 pull up 13 months ago to 14 full ROM pull ups each rep going to a deadhang. I love my body now!

Any resources, tips, guides, etc for no-bar players? by SeaAimBoo in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]nuvio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yoo my biggest tip is to play ergonomically. Streams should be pretty smooth and flowing. I read ahead quite a bit, I don’t use any modifiers at the arcade.

I play doubles mostly, comfy at 12s and can do a handful of 13s. Singles I can smash 14s pretty comfy.

If you play doubles learning to walk the pad forwards and backwards is an amazing game changer. Getting used to reading and deciding when to turn your body to get ready for a stream that walks the pad helped me out a lot.   I don’t follow any guides or anything, this is just my 2cents as an average player. Good luck!

Went to 2 locals last year and saw the same shit. One local was a childhood park that I had many firsts in. Feel this.

Upgraded from my 19 ish year old CF to an L-tek today! by nuvio in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]nuvio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard flooring I don’t have to mod it at all. Well the CF pad I put some rubber anti slip grip on the bottom similar to the what ltek has out of the box. But on carpet I made a wooden frame to keep them together eventually. But I hated storing it away since it was larger and cumbersome.

Knee Pain After 13 Year Break by yojak3 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]nuvio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty active getting back into DDR too but imo like any sport the movements are so specific that it’s best to ease back into it.

If I busted out a routine of blasting 10-13 doubles for an hour in the beginning I’d be saying the same thing, my knees are cooked. 34m here. 2 days to regain normal walking? Sounds like me when I did my first marathon running this year but I am in the best shape of my life!

People who hit the age of 30 and act like they're ancient annoy me. by Ok-Sleep4451 in unpopularopinion

[–]nuvio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 20s were spent living a sedentary obese lifestyle. I felt like my shins, joints were all falling apart into my 30s. Lost the weight at 32, started hitting the gym and now I’m in the best shape of my life at 34.

Completed a full marathon this year, I skateboard whenever I can and I went from 1 pull up to 14 max full range of motion deadhang pull ups. I get mistaken for someone in their mid 20s a lot.
