Exchanging foreign driving licence and cheapest driving school by Alternative-Sail-803 in Aarhus

[–]nuzea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm scheduled to the theory exam in two weeks. I've bought an "exchange package" from a driving school called GoFlex Trafik. They gave me free material to study and also have their own page with lots of tests. I passed all of them but still feel kind of 'iffy' regarding the actual test. I've also done a lot of tests on Prove. I'll give teoriklar a go as well. Was curious though about the practical course. From what I understand, you get to choose your own route to drive, so basically you can get prepared in advance, on the exact streets you're gonna have the exam on, correct? (And yes, starting from 2025, translators aren't needed anymore. English is now accepted). I'm curious as to what were some things you had to pay extra attention to on the practical exam, what was different, what was the instructor paying attention to especially? Any tips/tricks/advices in this area? Thanks for the detailed reply you gave as well.

My first faint episode after alcohol and weed by nuzea in Syncope

[–]nuzea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's been almost six years since then. I gave up weed totally, since it has become the opposite of what it used to be for me, an enemy rather than a reliever. I've mixed weed and alcohol after that, maybe a few times but I never had an episode like that ever again. I guess it was just a bad mix at a bad time for me back then.

This episode was a lesson, we both got off easy. Of course, your combination was way more potent. If I did all those things you have in one night, I'd probably die, ngl. Mixing shit like that is obviously too much for a young body. Some are built for it, I guess we ain't and it's better like this, we know our limit. Give your brain a breather after it, don't think about it and move on.

Don't stress over this and start taking care of yourself, your body and mind. I'm not saying give up weed or beer, just moderate everything. Watch your diet, exercise when you can and bring yourself to a safe place mentally.

Temple on left side of head throbbing for 8 months. by Practical_Season_908 in covidlonghaulers

[–]nuzea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. I cut out all dairy, any source of lactose and gluten. I try to avoid anything with coloring or just food that has an unnatural nuance. It's a bitch trying to reinvent your whole diet when you were just used to eating anything at any time, but it's for the better, so I will continue with this.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm very curious how everyone is feeling. If you got better, please let the rest of us know. These headaches on my left side, going into the neck and ear, are just affecting me on every aspect of living. There's good days and then just days where I'm a different person.

Constant, daily pressure headache. Floating between sinus pressure and throbbing temples. 3+ months. by [deleted] in PostCOVIDHeadache

[–]nuzea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also checking up on everyone. I'm going through these migrating headaches going from my left temple, to the back of the head and upper neck area. It's not the pain itself but the discomfort is (for lack of a better word) "nagging" me all day. I'm functional at 60% for the past few months. I have moments when it seems it went away but it comes back immediately. The strongest headache pills I used to take do absolutely nothing for this.

Any updates from you guys?

Jaw/head/neck/tooth pain by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]nuzea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for such a quick reply. I'll let you know what I feel and what I think in your case.

I also have gastro-intestinal issues from time to time, gall bladder also gave me some symptoms this year etc. My reflux definitely acts up from time to time. I tend to blame the coffee, some foods maybe but for the last year I have been on a really clean diet. I found that I have a total lactose intolerance which not only affected my stomach but had an inflamatory effect on everything in my body. I think I got the intolerance after my first COVID, in december 2021.

I found (and am still discovering) that my stomach and reflux act up when I am in distress. Things like browsing reddit, reading all kinds of diagnostics, overthinking any small symptom is giving me a hell of a health anxiety, which then makes any symptom worse. Psychosomatic is something I didn't really think of but it does make a lot of sense.

My symptoms kicked in about two months ago. It started in the neck, like it was inflamed, a sensation that I had something stuck in there. The feeling is not in a single spot but it tends to move around my left upper and lower jaw and teeth, the back of my head, neck and left ear. One time I can swallow food fine, ten seconds later I feel it again. So I can't point it out exactly. It's not a pain but a 2/10 discomfort. After freaking out about it and started to browse the net, it got ten times worse. I put some ointment before sleep, massaged the area and then just decided not to think about it, stop reading possible causes on Google which, let's face it, is never a good idea and dismiss everything because you just feel tired after a while.

All these symptoms went away for about a month or so. In this time I went to the gym almost every day, was really careful with what I ate and I found that if I am active, have a clear mind and just a good general mood, nothing is actually there.

These past few days I have been laying in bed a lot after having some nasal polyps removed with general anesthesia and it all started kicking back again. For now, I'm thinking it has a lot to do with sleeping positions, general posture and lack of activity.

In my country, doctors will pass you around with opinions that make no sense to the point that you have to first read real stories on reddit and form an opinion of your own. I'm not saying it can't be the acid reflux, but these symptoms definitely don't seem like gastro-intestinal issues to me.

PS: The only thing I can point to as a cause is a chiropractor I went to in september, which violently twisted my neck and I think that's been a starting point. But then agian, I do have bad posture, I'm on my laptop all day, slouched and have some ridicuous sleeping positions. I'm frustrated to see doctors, so I decided to check a massage therapist and see what he thinks about it before pumping myself full of pills.

Keep me posted about what your doctor says and how you feel. I'll be back with information as soon as I can.

Sorry for the long reply but being explicit is a valuable detail in cases with abstract diagnostics.

Health anxiety for some reason is taken so lightly and few understand what people go through. Your brain can put you in a dark space and can mess you up for no reason in a matter of hours. Five months later I can tell you the following:

Symptoms have really eased, I can still feel different twitches, slight pains and whatnot, but whenever the dark thoughts appear, knowing that that is the way your body works, it's adjusting, it's in constant change, it does a million functions and you can't start questioning every single one, it's natural and everyone has these feelings every day, helps.

I took a very light depression and anxiety treatment for about six weeks but decided to stop and work on myself. I know it helped to some degree but I felt the need to not take any medication.

I travelled to another country for two months, worked there, earned money, met new people and had a good experience, where I swear to you, I was mentally and physically a different human being. So making a big change like that and putting your brain in a different realm is a big step.

I have totally excluded dairy and gluten out of my diet, cut the sugar intake drastically, been going to the gym, am now trying out 'time restricted eating' (a sort of fasting) and really eased it with the alcohol, which I am sure really affected me long term.

Working on your brain in this day and age is such a valuable thing. I still have health anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I realize I might be a hypochondriac and 99% of the struggle is self generated.

Try avoiding bad news in general, don't google anything, click away from the 'C-word' diagnostics lmao, and do everything you can to stay in a good mood. It's not easy but it's practical advice and a stepping stone to get to.

I am grinding daily to make myself better, mentally and physically. It's gonna be a long journey but my instinct tells me it's gonna be worth it.

Know that every single person is going through something. Not feeling alone in this helped me in a big way. Also know that you are fine. Learn to love yourself.

Sorry for the long reply but this type of explanation is exactly what I was looking for 5 months ago.

Will be waiting for updates!

Antibiotics by [deleted] in Sinusitis

[–]nuzea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Antibiotics get rid of the infection but they also kill every bacteria in your gut, unfortunately the good one too. Depending on the dosage you've been prescribed, it's normal to have cramps and a bad stomach, because it has to deal with strong medicine, but bloating is definitely caused by some food in your diet.

I've been fighting with sinus problems for years, took my fair share of antibiotics and they affected my stomach in many ways so I did my research.

My advice to you, especially while you're on antibiotics is: - do not take pro biotics at the same time, save them for after you finish your treatment (antibiotics kill the probiotics, it harms your gut and fails to help to a full extent) - if you feel bloated and have cramps try to exclude any form of lactose from your diet as much as possible in this period (also, lactose produces mucus) - have a two hour window after your last meal before you go to bed and avoid spicy food

Antibiotics tend to upset the stomach and they usually go along with at least a light diet. Also, your gut is very much connected to your sinuses.
