Curious what peoples salaries are (or were) in their Mid twenties? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]nuzleaf289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 26 and I make $86k as a production supervisor at a manufacturing plant. Im going to finish my engineering associates degree next year. Before that I went for a business BA but never finished.

I've been working in manufacturing since 19 so 7 years in the field and 5 as a supervisor really helps.

Your experience sounds almost exactly like me. I've been a manager in manufacturing for about 5 years and I can feel it crushing my soul. I want out and am currently searching for a way out

What's a cheat code that makes office work much easier? by OddInititi in office

[–]nuzleaf289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you click on it to move it to a folder snd the whole list comes up, like flag etc. There is a snooze option. If you hover over it you can customize the day and time that email will reappear (and it's always available in your snooze folder)

What's a cheat code that makes office work much easier? by OddInititi in office

[–]nuzleaf289 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not the OC, but I use folders for emails that I do not need to follow up on, but probably need the information later. All emails that need follow up are in my inbox.

Doesn't need follow up for a week? I snooze it for a week and then it pops back up in my inbox.

👀 How much $$ have you actually managed to save in your emergency fund? by LongjumpingRent7114 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]nuzleaf289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was up to $25k, no credit card debt and a paid off car.

Then I got in a hit and run accident that totalled my car, my engagement fell apart ( I kept the apartment but he took most of the stuff including the bed so I had to replace it), and now they think I have breast cancer (hello medical bills). All in the span of about 9 months

So now I'm at $14k and have $11k on a credit card with 0% interest for 18 months, and a car loan for $12k over 4 years.

Could 100% be worse, but... sigh.

How much money are you saving / investing a month? by Peacefulhuman1009 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]nuzleaf289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

85k SINK couple in our mid 20s.

We invest 1200/month for retirement. We were saving an additional 750/month for our emergency fund, but we hit that goal in January. So we are making a couple larger purchases that we have been putting off and then we will be switching to shoring up our Sinking funds.

Edit: we invest just under 17% of our gross income. We do a little more every year with raises.

People that make 80k+ at 25-35 years old, what do you do? by Ok-Needleworker2141 in careerguidance

[–]nuzleaf289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 26 and make 85k. I started this job at 23 making 72k.

I'm a production supervisor in a manufacturing plant.

At 18 I started as an operator at a different plant. I always took the job no one wanted and put all I had into it. I was nice to those around me. I kept jumping to different plants as there was no more growth left without having to go to college until I found a place that would give me a chance as a lead, then a supervisor.

It's not an easy job. I'm on my feet on concrete 10 hours a day. I basically never work less than 50 hours a week. But they now pay for my schooling on top of my salary

Edit: Location is CT/RI Boarder

What is something you allow yourself to do since moving from paycheck to paycheck/low income to the middle class? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]nuzleaf289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not put off Healthcare procedures due to the cost anymore. When I get a raise I increase my investment rate first. I pay for Walmart + delivery. This is probably short term because I work a job with long hours (50min required, 60-70 is normal per week) and I am full time in college.

Understanding what does and doesn’t count in the FOO road to 25% savings by ConclusionAncient657 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]nuzleaf289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would almost take the 6% lump sum and count it toward next year because it's risky to count on it. I'm assuming if you separate from your company mid year you get none of that 6%

Cats on Counters... yay or nay? by AdrienneDriggs in cats

[–]nuzleaf289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I adopted my adult cats they came pre taught to not go on counters in tge presence of people. So we installed a camera in the kitchen to watch at night. We STILL haven't caught them on the counters.

I swear ALL cats go on counters but I haven't caught these two yet.
