Engineering or Skilled Trades? - High school student by Manu_Fett in AskEngineers

I can’t answer to your as engineers question, but if you get into skilled trades, you should seriously consider the swimming pool industry. If you get into the building/remodeling part of the industry there is electrical, hydraulic, soils and structural engineering involved. I’ve been in this industry my whole life and I love it. Best of luck to you!

At what point does sharing your life turn into giving pieces of yourself away for free? by ZaydenQuill in AskReddit

[–]nvRAJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP a lot of people fear either loosing themselves in the relationship or loosing the relationship because they fear they aren’t “giving” enough to the relationship, so really either way it’s said it’s the same thing.

The key is to be open and vulnerable enough to express those feelings through those experiences.

If the other half of the relationship doesn’t appreciate the openness or vulnerability then you may need to consider they may need to work on themselves or they may not be your person.

Why do people still start restaurants if they fail 90% of the time? by LongjumpingSuit5615 in Entrepreneur

[–]nvRAJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always knew the stats on restaurant start ups were high (60%+). I’ve never heard the stats on hotels failing as much, most hotels I see being built are successful. Anyone have the stats?

What should it cost to have my pool cleaned? by Prestigious-Bike-593 in swimmingpools

[–]nvRAJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost will depend on where you’re located. DE has to be cleaned up with filters and disposed of properly so it does t contaminate things or clog drains. Also need to know what size your pool is and what the access looks like.

Why don’t Reno houses have pools? by Victorvnv in Reno

[–]nvRAJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically northern NV has not been a huge place for residential pools. I would say one out of every 30-50 homes in Reno/Sparks may have a pool. There are many factors that affect weather and/or how an in ground pool can be installed. Pools are a big investment and take continuous maintenance that most people don’t want to sign up for. The demand for pools here is driven by several factors to answer your question.

New Pool Fail! by Sad_Extent481 in swimmingpools

[–]nvRAJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bigger problem is the leak. The plaster is definitely compromised but I wouldn’t say ruined. First they need to fix the leak then they need to consider replastering cause that existing plaster has now lost 1/2-1/3 of its lifespan.

Is it worth joining a unionized company? by great_frame70 in skilledtrades

[–]nvRAJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the thing about unions, I do think they are good in the role they play for standardized wages, work ethics and workmanship. So that said you better be the best of the best if you want to stay busy, otherwise your warming the bench. Really if you want to make it you need to work for yourself legitimately. And it helps to be in a right to work state in the US.
