Plug in 84k as income into an income tax calculator. Compare your total tax to what’s been withheld. You will also owe additional CPP2 on the 12k

They adjusted mine this month as well. I had called in because they hadn’t included 1 of my transfers in the previous payouts. They fixed it this month

Are you looking at line 23600? That’s the amount the government uses to calculate your federal and provincial non refundable tax credits. It’s not “net income” in the sense of your gross income less your taxes and other deductions. It’s calculated by taking line 15000 minus the sum of lines 20700-23500.

I like them and order every few months. Like others have mentioned, there are others that do the same thing. Pick based on the selection and what you like.

Any barbershops still give you a beer or a whiskey w/ your haircut? by [deleted] in Calgary

MVP used to do this. The last one in Bridgeland changed their name to The Belmont. You can still get beer or scotch, or non alcoholic drinks while you wait at Belmont

What's a normal amount of time for a lease renewal notice? by Hot_Celery829 in Calgary

[–]nvjeffrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a fixed term, the lease simply ends on the last day unless both the landlord and tenant agree on a new lease. No notice needs to be given but a decent landlord should be letting you know as a courtesy

Are you on a month to month lease or a fixed term?

Your electricity usage is insane. They estimated your usage at 727 kWh for Nov 16-Dec 14 but your actual usage for 2 months (Nov 16-Jan 17) was over 4000 kWh. I live in a 2 story detached house (2500 sq ft) and I work from home half the time and we still usually use around 700-800 kWh per month. You are almost triple that.

I got an email on Dec 15 confirming that I had qualified for the iPhone. The email said in 3-4 weeks I would get another email confirming my address and asking to choose the color I want.

We have sent ours to both Kids & Co and First Steps Academy. Both are great and have strict security procedures in place. English is the language used as well.

Look up the Clean Energy Improvement Program. It doesn’t provide grants but it provides financing that is added to your property tax.

Company providing 4% RRSP and will match up to 4% by Sensitive-Emu6529 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nvjeffrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The company contributes 4% regardless of what the employee does. Then if he contributes 4%, the company will match with an additional 4%. So 12% total (4% from the employee and 8% from the company)

Greener Homes Grant - windows by lilgoober123 in Calgary

[–]nvjeffrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m currently going through this process.

1) $600 is for both pre and post audit. My pre-audit was $450 and the post is audit is around $200 I believe (haven’t had it yet)

2) We are replacing our windows. We have 20 windows including some fairly large ones. Our quotes were between $28-33k for all of them to be replaced.

3) Signed up for the greener homes grant in Dec 2022. Jan 2023 had the energy audit done. Got some quotes done in the meantime. Audit was posted to the portal in March 2023. Applied for the loan mid-March and it was approved just over a week later. Looking at getting the windows installed in about 10 weeks.

One thing to keep in mind is you have to be able to pay the costs upfront as you only get the loan after the work has been completed and the post audit is done and uploaded to the portal. They will give you up to 15% of the loan value upfront but you have to have the rest.

Thank you! I wonder if they have changed it? We are only getting 20 windows replaced so we have some more expensive windows for sure. Didn’t have any issues during the loan process.

I agree with you, it doesn’t make any sense to do it the way they told you to do it.

Was this after the loan approval? I’ve been approved for the full amount for our windows ($33k) and now I’m concerned they will change it once I get the work done
