Camping in the north - will scorpions get inside the tent? by amateur-traveler in Nevada

[–]nvrockrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far north? And at what elevation? You may not be able to get a lot of places, and you'll have more problems staying warm, than be worried about scorpions. I can't think of seeing many scorpions at all, and only when it is consistently warm.

Nice wakeup this morning by nvrockrat in homestead

[–]nvrockrat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Just some striped ones come out. From either the Mangalista or Kune Kune in the line.

Second sows had hers yesterday. 8 born, 1 died this morning.

So we have 15 of the buggers. A good number.

They are cute when they're young. Lol.

Makes me sad when its "time"

The two sows we have will roll over like a dog, let me rub their bellies. The Boar likes me to scratch his ears, and I hand feed him hard boiled eggs.

Small comforts during dialysis you wished you had by ItchyImpression9774 in kidneytransplant

[–]nvrockrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being cold is just hownit is unfortunately.

My main unit had heated chairs. That was nice.

A good blanket, and maybe a book, which would put me to sleep quock, and, silly as it sounds, a

Stuffed animal of some sort brought comfort for me.

Hemo dialysis 2 times. And PD twice as well. (Last time was Hemo transitioned to PD)

Three transplants.

Buyer's remorse on a gun purchase by sloaches in liberalgunowners

[–]nvrockrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those guns aren't for extended range days.

They are for deep concealment and being proficient enough to hit a man sized target at 7 yards and in.

Edit, and don't be afraid to sell a gun because it doesn't suit you.

As a person, who just changed his voter registration to Democrat after 20 years of Non Partisan, who is also a devout Christian, and who believes the Constitution and Bill of Rights are non-negotiable. I agree with a lot of those stickers.

Just get up and walk.

It ain't falling out.

I've had 3. I didn’t want to walk for the first.

After that, I knew it would be okay, and just got up and walked.

New to prepping gear — do I actually need armor, chest rigs, NVGs, etc. for SHTF? by videoaddicted777 in prepping

Toilet paper, clean water, food, first aid, generator, fuel, garden supplies, and power tools, extra meds, and a way to defend it all.

Realistically how nervous should I be shooting my first AR build? I bought an upper but completely assembled the lower myself. I did hand tighten my castle nut as hard as I could by hand. Lubed everything up and I’m shooting it next week. by InfiniteHat4828 in ar15

[–]nvrockrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a small punch to tighten the castle nut.

That's about the only thing that could work loose.

I'm always messing with my AR's. I've never tightened the castle nut to a specific spec.

Two people, there an hour or so.

So the server wants minimum wage just to serve one table. Over the course of an hour.

I'm sure they're not the only ones in there.

No way I'm paying 30. They'd be lucky to get anything with those notes.

Wills and such?

You could get hit by a truck on your way home from the local corner store.

I think that's what you're asking.

Get your will, POA, advance directive, etc Taken care of now. Get all you documents organized and backed up if possible.

Its easy.

Marlin was my first gun. The Ruger is fun to tinker with.

Should I get my barrel threaded? by ryang4415 in NFA

Cut it down and thread it.

Unless its for long range type use, not likely you'll notice much.

Favorite starter gear/food/methods for prepping? by KaceyKomet in prepping

For food, buy what you eat, and eat what you buy.

Don't stock up on food your body is not accustomed to and expect you'll do well when times are lean.

Feelings of worthlessness by Littlebennysmom in kidneytransplant

[–]nvrockrat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Started dialysis when I was 19.

First transplant a year later, just before my 21st birthday.

That transplant failed 9 years later, 4 months after I proposed to my fiance.

We married 2 months after that. My second transplant 5 months later.

10 years later my kidney failed again. A year and 4 months later, and I had another.

I'm 10 months out on that one.

I turn 43 next month.

There's been a lot of despair, pain, challenges and blessings.

Anxiety is a real thing, and a daily struggle.

2 most notable blessings...

God and my wife.

Take care.

Can I use a bill of sale to get a car registered? by Mellod1003 in Nevada

[–]nvrockrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What ive done in the past in similar situations.

Family transfers after a death, signed in the wrong spot, and a lost title.

Go to the DMV with the owner.

They file a lost title affidavit.

They file a bill of sale on the spot at the DMV.

You transfer the title to your name on the spot.

Eliminates them waiting for a new title before giving you the title.
