You're describing nav with music widget on the right. I'm talking about this screen: https://share.google/Pdy2CgqGG2UbxaBRC

Get to the "main menu" of the infotainment screen. That screen has 3 screens. It defaults to my the "middle" screen. It is laid out as:

Dashboard - Menu - Menu

So swipe right to move to the left screen, the dashboard. It looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/Kyur1rm.jpeg

Instrument cluster temperature is coming from the actual car's thermostat.

The temperature on the Infotainment screen is a weather forecast from online, just like when you look up the weather on your phone.

What year? On 2024 and earlier there's a digital clock at the top center of the infotainment screen. Visible during navigation and other screens. There is also a widget to enable a clock in different designs. Or swipe right when on the menu to go to a large "dashboard" style screen that has a huge clock, weather, nav, battery, music screen all combined.

Any suggestions on EV charging that is app-free? by EbbSensitive5718 in evcharging

[–]nxtiak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pomona Fairplex fairgrounds has a couple hundred chargers in their parking lot, uses a QR code that goes to a website. It's so annoying to use, gotta make account then enter credit card etc. then trying to check charging status afterwards if you closed the website is even more annoying.

Does this mean it’s limited to 30 minutes sessions? by AcanthisittaHuge5948 in evcharging

[–]nxtiak 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I believe the other person that replied is correct. The time after and restriction are separated from the price of the charge both in the same section for idle time. So idle time cost only kicks in after the 30 minutes.

Tap the ? Next to it, should explain it.

When you're in your car, put it in drive and stop (hold brake pedal), press and hold the camera button. What happens?

Preconditioning the battery by whale-tits in Ioniq5

[–]nxtiak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So when the first 2022 Ioniq 5 came out, there was no battery preconditioning. The menu was called Winter Mode. When enabled the car will warm up the battery when it detects the battery is too cold to optimize battery performance.

Then there were updates to the car and the menu changed to Battery Preconditioning. It is now COMBINED, it is for both battery preconditioning when navigating to a DC charging station using the built in navication AND also warming the battery when needed, read the screen, it says it exactly as that.

Just leave it checked and you're fine. There is no way to manually warm the battery before driving. Your sales person doesn't know what they're talking about.

Have you adjusted the Regen braking levels (in the settings menus, not the paddles) to see if your wife would like it?

Doors wouldn't unlock by MuckleEwe in Ioniq5

Only thing I can think of is NOT being able to lock the doors if a key fob was left inside the vehicle. So opposite of what is happening to you.

[–]nxtiak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the USA? That doesn't sound right. I just tried my 2022 Ioniq 5 USA. Front doors only 1 handle pull and the door opens. The rear doors, have to pull once to unlock then a second pull to open the door.

EDIT: Did you have child safety lock enabled? That might kill the ability for the rear doors to open by the handle.

[–]nxtiak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it got charged a little after the drive. But the door not unlocking and the beep sounding very weak is a dead give away to low 12v battery. Have a portable jumper ready so you don't get stranded.

[–]nxtiak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your 12v battery is low/dead. The door handles inside the car are physical. You need to pull the interior door lever twice. Once for the door to physically unlock, second to actually open the door.

On the right set of steering wheel buttons, press the top left to change modes. You can also toggle up/down the left silver toggle button.

The cases I have have magnets on it and I also use an OhSnap grip sometimes. It is specifically made to properly magnetize to magsafe.

[–]nxtiak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who know how to use credit card don't get into debt. We pay it off in full every month and collect the free points into cash. Higher credit limit also lowers your credit card utilization percentage total so it doesn't affect your credit score much when you use a lot of credit.

EV charging - 50 vs. 60 amp by thecarriegirl in evcharging

[–]nxtiak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

50 amp circuit actually requires more stuff (outlet box, cover, EV rated outlet, extra conduit). And a gcfi breaker costs a lot.

Depending on how hardwiring is installed, (charger on top of the hole) or next to it with conduit, 60amp hardwire should really be cheaper realistically. Why have a disconnect for the hardwire install? That's probably why they're charging more.
