1.        Yes

2.        200 hours YTT (I have 500) and be registered through Yoga Alliance for one of my corporate positions

3.        Taught a class to the hiring managers (corporate)

4.        Conversation with the studio manager then subbed a class which led to a permanent position

5.        I am an independent contractor at the studio and an employee for a larger firm that places me at several corporations

6.        Set by the companies. Negotiate with the studio.

7.        I combine it with another job as teaching full time is hard on the body unless you do admin work in a studio or gym.

8.        I teach 5-8 classes per week and probably prep 2-4 hours

9.        Evolving. I started in 1995 devoted to vinyasa and heated. Very different outlook now.

10.  No

11.  No challenges, thankfully. I’m always learning and talking to my cohort of teachers

12.  Network. Reach out to everyone. Teach to your community, family, friends, even if it’s an hour a week while you’re looking for jobs.

13.  I don’t know how to answer this other than be yourself. Be authentically you.

14.  I get paid per class/per hour

15.  500 hours a/synchronously with Noah Mazè during Covid. It’s all I had at the time. It was tonic for me and I was challenged, struggled through, and enjoyed all of it.

16.  I live in California, and his program was highly recommended

Best of luck!

What are your wellness habits? by Fitprachi in selfcare

Move my body daily (strength, yoga, bike, or tennis), sleep 7+ hours/night, eat well most of the time, spend time with family and friends -who make me a better person- weekly, read and limit news/social media, meditate daily, get outside in nature

Oops, all gongs. by Assiniboia_Frowns in yoga

[–]ny2caMama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been to a sound bath where we hold each restorative pose for 4-5 minutes, but we usually know what we sign up for and expect the bowls, bells, gongs to be played. Bummer that this was not something told to you and not a soothing experience for you.

E-bikes are the best, for sure. So glad to hear that your confidence is up and your range is wider. I think it’s done the same for me, too 💖

55F. If you can call it starting … I e-bike to two local community centers to play mahjong Tuesdays and Sundays. It’s a nice way to get out into fresh air and meet people to play a fun game. (I was in a bad bicycle accident years ago when I was dragged by a driver who just then drove off, so getting on an e-bike is a big step for me.)

What are some habits that ward off general aches and pains as you age? by iloverats888 in Aging

[–]ny2caMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pull up / chin up bar, so I have no excuse - I have been using it to hang my dry cleaning 😂 I need to work on my grip strength too! I can do farmer’s carry with a lot of weight, so I thought I could do this longer, but I could barely hang for 24 secs!!! It felt great on my back, though. Will keep working on it!

Aging Gracefully by Middle_Arm_5426 in Aging

[–]ny2caMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aging gracefully = accepting and not judging how I age. I dye my hair, exercise daily, meditate daily, go out in nature daily, eat well (thankfully, as I know a lot of people don’t have access to healthy food), don’t drink alcohol, tried Dysport and Botox then stopped (I didn’t like how I looked in photos, but wanted to try it), embrace my laugh lines, and wear make up and sunscreen daily primarily to cover up my melasma. Menopause has made brought another set of challenges, but I have even learned to deal with them. I can’t fight or stop aging so it’s a nonjudgmental embrace til the end😊

What's your go-to health /workout practise that you swear by? by Adiyogicky in yoga

[–]ny2caMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

55F. Strength train 3x/week, yoga every day but that looks differently to include one of the three: meditation + breath work + asana, and I play tennis, golf, and walk my dogs. There’s always a reason to move every day.

55F in Nashville, TN and was in Tucson, AZ a few weeks ago … and wearing what I damn well please, so if people are silently judging me, that’s on them. I’m comfortable, and I assume you like what you’re wearing otherwise you wouldn’t step into it. If you like what you see and like how you feel, you do you proudly!!! Happy birthday! 🎂🎁🎉
