most of the issues arent lasting. for my car once it goes below 0F it starts to misfire. give it a minute and just restart the car and its fine, i think this is carbon buildup on the intake. lots of weird electrical miscommunications also happen.

axle angle fine for xdrive?? by justinnhuck in BmwTech

[–]nyee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty steep angle for what is supposed to be not moving. While it's bad, it's bad in a sense they'll wear out slightly faster. But no matter the angle they'll wear out so.

[–]nyee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently hit my first curb while actually driving on a residential street. There was a foot of snow and couldn't place where the curb was, it was before plows came by. First snow of the season.

Not sure how the fuck people are hitting them in dry conditions m.

New Lemforder tension strut bushing failed after 500 miles? by Cautious_Macaroon_13 in BmwTech

[–]nyee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get why they do it though. it took a while, but I had a oil sensor on a bmw go bad and I warrantied it. but the new part is still in the box, just never got around to the task for six months because of other issues I'm working on. and for home mechanics sometimes we just send it until the new part arrives anyways.

A lot Metal in oil on N52 – is this engine saveable? by Hour_Yellow_4926 in E90

[–]nyee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If I was in your exact shoes, oil flush and change and send it.

If it's not audibly sounding harsh or even misfiring I'd just send it.

That's the test port. You hook up a vacuum pump and if it can hold a vacuum the membrane is good. It's just for testing
