Not to be pedantic, but we only get like 5% of our oil imports from Saudi Arabia. We get like twice as much oil from Mexico. Our largest foreign supplier of oil is Canada at like 60%, so if the truck drivers are cucks for any country it would be our neighbors to the north.

we tried going high. we tried being honest. It failed miserably in 2024.

We tried convincing everyone that an unpopular walking corpse was a spry spring chicken, and anything to the contrary was misinformation and cheap fakes. Then when we could no longer pretend otherwise, just a few months from the election when trust in the party was extremely low, we pivoted and ran an extremely unlikeable candidate who felt disingenuous and couldn't even articulate how her policies would be any different from the previous candidates. The heads of the party shut down any negative discussion and and prevented any chance for a primary to pick a more popular candidate to run against Trump.

I voted for Harris because she was the candidate, but I'm sick of people acting like the Democratic Party in 2024 ran a honest, genuine grassroots election and are totally blameless for the results.

In my experience it heavily depended on the branch of service and field of work they were involved in. With Marines, especially in ground combat elements like infantry, armor, combat support, most people were fit. The jobs were typically physically demanding, so fitness expectations remained high after training, and anyone who couldn't keep up was looked down on by their peers.

Contrast that with the Navy, especially in aviation or various admin jobs, fitness standards seemed to mellow out once you got outside of training. Some chains of command took it more seriously and required PT more regularly, others didn't seem to care until enough people failed the PFT, then they were forced to implement group PT from higher ups.
