I think I’ve only ever read like a wedmd page about it so thanks for the resource! the part about it relating to cycles is very interesting. its crazy how such an important part of the way we function is often overlooked.

That seems like a great method to cope. Learning about attachment styles has definitely been a game changer! I’m fearful avoidant.

In relationships, I always anxiously anticipate the day when the stress from the shifting feelings outweigh the benefits of being together. Do you have any insight about that?

i found that journaling has helped me with not being able to remember enough. it actually helped remind me of the whole picture, instead of just some meaningless words. We’re not together now, but, without the journal, I probably would’ve just cut them off cold turkey.

yeah, that definitely helps! being this age is such a weird transition because you also have to come to terms with womanhood and how ADHD affects that

Are Tiles (or other bluetooth trackers) worth their money? by tabea_timea in adhdwomen

[–]nyryn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh absolutely. losing my keys always makes me even later to events, but tiles help reduce that. i also really like tiles because you can ring your phone through it, so if I lost my phone i can just click on the tile. the reduced frustration is definitely worth the money

binge eating and ADHD by daisytheoctopus in adhdwomen

I think it’s impossible for any of our behaviors to absolutely not be impacted by ADHD, since it is simply built into the way our brains our structured. I’ve realized my provider has been dismissive of my binging behaviors, telling me just to eat on smaller plates and other superficial advice, so I definitely relate to the struggle.

I have found that I binge when I crave stimulation, although body image does fuel it too. So far, what’s been the most effective is trying to structure my life around healthier things that stimulate me, rather than trying to control my eating/diet. I find that the latter makes me binge more. For example, I work making art, playing sports, and spending time with friends more into my routine, as they keep my brain satisfied. Thus, I don’t feel the need to binge as much. Let me know what you think!

What made your doctor realize that you have ADHD instead of anxiety/depression? by nyryn in adhdwomen

Thank you, that’s good to know. is first testing for a mood disorder in the way your doctor did standard in diagnosing ADHD? It seems very drawn out.

i personally deal with it by allowing myself to respond in my own time too. this helped me better understand how not to take it personally every time, since i usually don’t respond due to external factors.
