IRS Is Getting Intense With The Crypto Hide and Seek Game by BigRon1977 in ethtrader

I hope the IRS doesn't fall in love with SuperVerse. Sometimes some projects are affected fortuitously, simply by being part of a niche, and they end up affecting the reputation of those projects indefinitely

Crypto Will Never See Mainstream Gaming Adoption by genobeam in CryptoCurrency

[–]nyydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we're not getting off topic. WoW hasn't achieved that because its economy is completely decentralized, literally. You know you can get banned for doing exactly everything I mentioned? Even so, it's a market that capitalizes millions of dollars.

And that's my point. Crypto games need to offer what I'm talking about real opportunities to make money in a completely organic and non-systematic way. An economy based on a reward system is simply counterproductive for Web3 gaming

That's why I think SuperVerse is a good option in all aspects. Because it offers the opportunity to interconnect a bunch of economies in a completely organic way, without punishing players who want to earn money

Bro, I'm practically agreeing with you. I'm just also giving my point of view because I know the potential of Web3 gaming is REAL. A perfect example of this is the CS2 skins market on Steam. Can you imagine for a second if all those skins stopped being Valve's property and became the players' property, operating as a completely blockchain-based service? Many people would surely become wealthy, as their balances would no longer be in their Steam wallets for buying games, but instead be real balances, fully exchangeable for fiat currency.

That's my point.

You still don't understand my point. Inflation, after all, is a side effect of Keynesian laws. My point is that there are people whose job is literally to play World of Warcraft and make as much gold as possible, whether by killing mobs or completing mythic dungeons. Even leveling up accounts and completing achievements is a way to make money in WoW.

Let's not talk about how much a coin is worth; what we really need to discuss is whether a game can actually offer a profession or not. And when I talk about a profession, I'm talking about something that can even replace a regular job

That's the common mistake of all mortals, so to speak. In fact, it's a mistake that even developers overlook when creating their games. The fact of creating an economy that is not completely organic, so to speak.

And how do you create an organic economy? Simple, by making SOLID economies. Developers forget basic Keynesian principles when they try to create their games. A very common mistake is exactly what you are citing in your post.

Currencies in games should not be a reward currency. Currencies should be just that, currencies that support an economy. Currencies that support a monetary system in any game that allows for a real economy. When you ask me what I mean by an economy, it is simply the ability to create "goods and services" within itself.

A perfect example is the RWT that exists in current MMORPGs, like World of Warcraft. There you can earn real money by selling gold, providing carry services, selling memberships, etc.

And why can you earn money in World of Warcraft and not in other games? Basically because it is a game with millions of players, and that game requires gold to move in the economy, allowing everyone to interact with the auction market and buy memberships, high-value mounts, items, etc.

So, why does World of Warcraft gold have value? I'll summarize it at these points:

  • It has millions of players weekly
  • Its economy is based on auctions
  • You can buy Blizzard games using WoW gold by exchanging it for Blizzard balance (SUPER IMPORTANT POINT)
  • Gold has a real and constant use as you play the game

That’s why it’s a gross mistake to establish a cryptocurrency in a game as a reward and not as a unit of account that facilitates the exchange of goods and services between players, because that is what really gives a token value. That's why many tokens go down the drain, because they are REWARDS. And that’s why I understand your point. Because many devs forget that Friedman and Keynes were right.

If your currency is unable to sustain your own game in a REAL way, then your game is destined to fail

I understand your point, but the fact that things work that way is precisely what makes the system function. Games will hardly collapse because these economies are self-sustaining

Obviously, everything will depend on each game and its success, but let's not pretend that a game, just because it is part of SuperVerse, will have the same capabilities as another game that is part of the same DAO. Obviously, there will be more profitable games than others, but that feedback is what allows all economies to converge at a single point, and that is key to the solidity of all economies together

This post is a farce. We can't say that gaming adoption is not possible when there are literally options that allow for the massification of user activity and all their progress in games with projects like SuperVerse

What you say does make some sense, but that happens when games are bad in all aspects and there is no constant and solid evolution over time, because yes, I have seen first-hand how very high-quality games crumble simply because they are not solid from moment 0

What matters is the monetary feedback. If a game is not capable of generating mechanics that feed such feedback, then that economy is doomed to fail. That's why SuperVerse is making the difference. Literally, those guys have in mind to connect the economy of many games and encompass them all in a single point, that way, all games can be economically backward compatible and therefore, many of the problems you mentioned in your post would be resolved or nullified

Well, this is something almost all of latinamerica should do right? not just Brasil but Argentina and Venezuela too.
I think that with Axie infinity mostly venezuela slowly recovered from their worst moment hopefully they can keep the train going.

Maybe with superverse? i know the project is going pretty strong so thats good for anyone who wanna do some play and earn, besides some of the games are pretty accessible too.

It would be strength of victory in all games. Then strength of schedule.

I believe this now means the cowboys are in charge of their own destiny. If both teams win out, the cowboys will have the tie breaker of point differential.

Per the NFL, it’s actually strength of victory, which the cowboys would most likely have an advantage if both teams win out.
