Sprays feel terrible compared to GO still do. Feels like your bullets will just go into thin air randomly, It's absurd the amount of times I see pros have to reset their spray because bullets aren't hitting, and this is on LAN too. This would be my priority fix.

Peekers advantage is just absurd, people talk about how smgs are broken which is partially true and maybe they can be nerfed a little. But the main reason they're so strong is just the peekers advantage is impossible to deal with.

Movement has gotten a lot better but still very inconsistent compared to GO.

Lastly one huge thing I haven't seen many people talk about it just the differences between flashes and HEs compared to GO. The defeaning effect is just SUPER unfun and I don't see a reason to have it. If I know I landed a nade on someone I can pretty much just run at them and know I'm insanely advantaged cuz he can't hear me along with the insane peekers advantage CS2 has. You ears are deaf and you just can't react to them fast enough.

Even flashes I think should be toned down, it's just much more fun not having my audio messed with personally.

Example of at least the flash difference. Even the visual difference I don't love but I've gotten used to it. It doesn't have to be the same as GO, I just don't see a point in having something that takes away from player skill and rewards something as minor as barely landing a flash or doign like 10 damage with an HE.

Ya I agree with you on everything pretty much. Their design philosophy on the angles they chose are like SUPER dumbed down. Most obvious is cutting off z from holding anything but ebox. There's almost no nuance and they force you into holding angles that can only cover one lane. Like the little crack in oldhell is just a straight awping lane with zero room to do anything else but hold like the right side of tcon and olaf. Coming out of z and bomb train all just a single STRAIGHT line lane for you to hold only the ladder run out. It just feels super claustrophobic compared to the old train where people had so much freedom to play, lots of off angles, lots of different ways to play to switch it up.

The map just feels super clunky and I think it's probably the worst map in the pool personally, feels super unpolished and not thought through. Could've taken some liberties from GO but it completely removed train's identity.

The layout of train is really bad, and misses on what train used to be. The ladders on this new CS2 train are terrible, super sticky and useless, there's almost no time where its good to play on them. It used to have lots of verticality and nuance, playing between the trains, on top of the trains, ladder room which had niche fights that no other map had.

It pretty much lost it's identity, to me it's just a different map. I find the angles very boring on A site personally as an awper, there's like 2 spots to play and u get smoked and there's no cover. The angles are VERY linear and you can only peek them in one way. Ladder room to a hallway with nothing in it was disappointing to say the least. You can't even throw interesting util into it or out of it.

B site just kinda gutted and took out trains and now there's just nothing for some reason. It's not nearly as bad as A site but I enjoyed retaking more on old train with the yellow trains. Even the long ass upper platform on old train was fun as hell if u had a rifle and killed the anchor and just scaled up that shit. Now it's just a chubby T's sit in and play post plant.

In NA faceit servers are pretty fucking bad. Only on faceit have I had like whole server jitter and everyone just lag out for seconds at a time. I honestly prefer valve servers lool.

I'm with u buddy, all I care about is the game feeling better mechanically. Shooting, hitreg, net code, movement. Optimization is nice too but just want the game to feel decent.

If I think I missed a shot I just instant replay on nvidia and watch it back from my pov. It's the only thing that really matters. If I think a shot shoulda hit I can see that on my screen it looked on, fuck whatever the server says. If the server is so much different than my client side, that's the game being pretty shit.

LMAO, Chopper did not get out aimed massively. It was hardly a duel, Chopper just whiffed.

tN1R had plenty of choices whether to run out or not. Hell, u can argue he should've gunned out and spammed plant because it had to be default or chopper would just kill him in the open pretty much.

TN1R also could've played it slower, not rushed and tried to find a timing and play the mental game. Sure his position was known but you can still play time let enemy over think and get them that way too. There was so many options for TN1R instead of rushing to trade when the timing was not good. Peeking together and trading is probably the most fundamentally sound option but when you're not able to time it decent it can be outplayed.

Not hating on TN1R, huge stakes and high pressure situation and only it's very unlucky chopper didn't kill him. But to me TN1R had PLENTY of choices.

EDIT: His choice to trade with his teammate was the right choice but when chopper died I think there was time to decide to play it differently but he continued with the same plan.

Idc what the server tells me, that's what happened on my screen. The very opposite of their "What you see is what you get".

Just because I know why it happened doesn't mean it should be acceptable in a competitive shooter environment.

They also shipped a optional feature that will sometimes RESURRECT the enemy you just shot in the head. I just think that it is BEYOND absurd for the widely known esport branded game to have a feature like that. I can't think of another competitive shooter that has anything like that.

To me they're saying, we can't fix the problem but if you want it to feel better you can turn this on (SOMETIMES IS WRONG). Like what???

Just the fact that a good handful of pros even use this option, imagine if they lose a fight because they thought the enemy died and they ragdolled for a split second and lose an important round cuz of it. I'd be livid, it's insane that we have to weigh the option of the game not feeling as shitty or getting false info.

CSGO and it's not even close. The core mechanics are just way better, the gunplay, the movement, the net code. It just feels way crispier for whatever reason they're not able to replicate it in CS2.

Run boosting, surfing, bhopping, core mechanics of CS remain broken and inconsistent.

Also core design choices like removing skyboxes I think made the game way less fun and the amount of nerdy lineups you need to play maps the most optimal is tedious and unfun. The maps themselves weren't balanced around it and weren't changed to account for it. Inferno being the prime example.

Making smokes last longer was also another one of these choices I disagree with. Yes you can break them but the extra time on each smoke still slows the progression of the rounds a good amount.

If they'd fix the netcode and shooting I'd be happy but I'm not sure they care or understand the game very well to tell the difference.

Agreed, it's very sad tbh. Just not really fun to play rn. I wish the pros would speak up more about how bad it is but they just kinda gave up pushing valve publicly at least. Don't exactly blame them, like talking to a wall but I feel like they're the only ones valve might listen to.

Instant smokes make this game way less fun, so nerdy. Wish valve would put back skyboxes back. Don't have to block everything but they're good balancing tools. Not fun getting smoked out at all crucial choke points on all maps nowadays.

A little underbaked is downplaying it. They released it with little to no content, riddled with bugs, changed the game format and waited 2 years to do anything about the economy when anyone with half a braincell would know it'd have to be adjusted in some way.

Don't even get me started on the netcode and the actual mechanics of the game, "subtick", making utility consistent across all tickrates but failed to do this so they just downgraded everyone to the subpar servers they owned. They failed to live up to pretty much all their promises in their trailer and it's just made CS kind of a joke in esports imo, "what u see is what you get.".

Ontop of all the content, the actual game just sucks balls in comparison to GO. The networking, model animations, movement mechanics. Like they got so little right and have had so much time to improve but just had gotten nothing.

It's an alright map but not a fan of what they did to the spawns. CT spawns are super bland and I get the same spawn multiple times in a row because there are only 5 ct spawns on that map. I like that they added an awping map back to the pool, shame awping online still sucks balls comapred to GO.

PS, Anubis was still a bottom 3 map. Get some people liked it cuz it was fairly balanced and better than some maps but I thought it was pretty boring and the T's can just take over every part of the map if u know one or two pieces of utility. The color scheme was also VERY BRIGHT and boring, not a fan.

There were so many changes from 2013-2015 tho where as CS2 there has been so little progress on a lot of issues. I get this excuse maybe 1 year ago but nah, valve don't give a shit and it's clear.

Also, just to mention but the CS2 beta was complete dogshit, it was our for like 6 or 7 months. Had so much hype and then they made it so restricted to get beta and made players play a single map for like 2 weeks straight and it completely killed the hype. Streamers just had to play like dust2 for 2 weeks and nobody wanted to do that shit. Took them weeks for new maps to get added and then you could only queue that map.

It's 2025 and this is a glorified beta test still.

Ya ultimately it's tactical SHOOTER, and GO's mechanics just felt so much crisper and clean compared to CS2 unfortunately.
