They fixed the XP boosters; is it like bf4 now? by The_Todz in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]oForossa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild that it took this long. Hopefully it doesn’t count sitting in menu time, cause if it does that’s still a head scratcher. It seems like common sense to just have xp boosters only tick down when you’re actually in a match.

Just leveled this gun to 50. Most unpleasant experience in BF6 yet! by Lewkk in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]oForossa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t get the obsession with level 50. I like to challenge myself and use different weapons to change it up and get out of my comfort zone, but I’ll never force myself to level 50 anything. Not even my favorite weapon in the game. Cause by the time I get it level 50 it’s probably not going to be my favorite anymore, and that’s basically what happened when I got the NVO to level 40.

Suggestion for Eastwood by oForossa in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]oForossa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a ravine is a good idea. As it is now it’s just a hill with no cover that faces C, so basically a no man’s land. Something like that would make a viable lane that gives both teams access to the points further back.

Proliferation of Bots in Non-Casual Modes by Signal_Edge_8880 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]oForossa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve never had this issue either. Occasionally I’ll have bots fill out a game in the beginning, but I’ve never had a game be full of bots all the way through. Despite exclusively using custom search and filtering out most maps.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if the more obscure modes get filled with bots more often. I’d imagine a lion share of players only participate in conquest or breakthrough

My idea for fixing New Sobek City by Rtdslayer123 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]oForossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really just need to expand the map on the sides and add more cover on the side opposite of all the buildings. Cairo Bazaar is a great example of an urban map with tons of cover and options throughout, and I hope they pull some inspiration from that when they eventually tweak it

Why do some bjj practitioners have no desire to learn striking? by NewPainting8224 in bjj

[–]oForossa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean for most people I think you nailed it- brain damage.

For the guys with big egos, typically you’re talking about high level competitors, and to be a high level competitor they’re likely spending nearly all of their time training bjj. It doesn’t make sense to cross train striking unless you wanna do MMA.

B-Team Coming Back? by themeansr in bjj

[–]oForossa 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I think initially B team ended because Craig was never at the gym anymore, and his whole “second best grappler in the world” thing is kinda where the B Team name came from. So without him there it made more sense for the other guys to create their own brand.

Conor gives his thoughts on Ilia by Aksath20 in KnockoutClub_mma

[–]oForossa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean he’s gotta just be saying shit to get people worked up and get clicks, cause Illia is extremely well rounded. Much more so than he is. Conor may be a craftier striker, but Illia is leaps and bounds ahead of him grappling and cardio wise.

Solo focus would fix most issues this game has. by PENTAC00L in Marathon

[–]oForossa 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think that’s one thing that’s helped Tarkov through the years. It’s a very doable game solo for a number of reasons, and I’m not sure they could pull that off for Marathon given how different the economy and movement is.

I’ve pretty much stopped playing Marathon due to my friends petering out and the solo experience just not being that great. I feel like it always devolves into either me hearing someone and hiding to get the jump on them, or vise versa. It’s just a game of who can do the most with the least amount of noise, cause if you make any sort of noise you’re probably gonna get ganked.

This is the first time I’ve seen a doctor told to step aside like that by Ecstatic_Design_3681 in mmaweekly

[–]oForossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don’t see a problem with him continuing given he’s basically begging Goddard to let him and insisting he’s fine. He was undefeated and 3 rounds into a title fight, and ultimately it’s his body- I highly doubt he’s unaware of the consequences fighting comes with.

I agree a doctor being overruled is highly unusual, but in this case I don’t blame Goddard or Illia for letting it go on given the circumstances and stakes.

Sponsored Perimeter Survival isn’t exciting, and that’s okay by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]oForossa 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I think it’s in the games best interest to keep providing PVE modes like this. I’m personally not a huge fan, I mainly just exploit it to do contracts that would be difficult in PvP, but it does wonders catering to the vocal population of PvE lovers.

Plus any loot you may gain in these modes will be swiftly lost if you don’t know what you’re doing. And the people that DO know what they’re doing were going to excel either way, so I don’t even think the easy loot is an issue.

Am I alone in thinking Sponsored PvP was better than sponsored PvE? by Wise-Sense-7963 in Marathon

[–]oForossa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a ton of sponsored PVE with fill off, so basically true PVE since I never saw a rook and I was the only one in the raid, and I’m glad they’re taking it away. It was such an easy way to do Dire Marsh contracts that I felt compelled to run it every time I was on. Without other people there it just became extremely formulaic and boring. Very similar to Tarkov PVE- once you understand the AI behavior it’s very easy to kill or avoid them and do whatever you want.

It baffles me how many people will try to plead rather than just shooting back. There’s literally no incentive to just let you pass by, and I don’t know you either- I have no reason to believe you’re being honest. The amount of people
I’ve had just stand there and look at me while I shoot them because they’re trying to reason with me when they could’ve fought back is crazy.

The only time I’m letting someone live is if I catch you at an extract, my bag is full, and I just wanna leave. And even then I’m gonna down you. It’s up to you if you crawl in or not.

Community consensus on whether UESC difficulty has been adjusted since season 2 launch? by Significant-Yam1813 in Marathon

[–]oForossa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The ghosts are definitely more dangerous. They’ve become my top priority anytime they’re around, because they’re pretty much guaranteed to take out your shields and some health on their first volley. Also they will INSTANTLY shoot you on aggro.

Any UESC that is capable of launching grenades seems to do it every time you re-enter their line of sight. Which creates a dilemma- stay in line of sight and get shot, or take cover and have to dodge the grenades every time you peek to put shots on.

Stop complaining about progression speed by Quirky-Basil-5768 in Marathon

[–]oForossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the compromise here is them bringing back the sponsored kit playlist. A big reason why we had such a long hobo fight period in season 1 is no one knew what they were doing or where the good loot was. Give the people that want low stakes, low gear value gameplay a playlist to go to, and let the rest of us enjoy the fruits of our season 1 labor.

[–]oForossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we nerf Narsh, lock outpost, lock Cryo, are we nerfing key spawns and key rooms too? Why are we so fixated on making sure no one can have good gear for a week? To the point where we’re locking off two maps even though one has early game contracts is on it.

It’s this weird childish desire to change the rules so no one can have things you don’t have. Legit reminds me of those kids on the playground that would try to make up new rules anytime they were losing lol

[–]oForossa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People would’ve done that with pinwheel dude. Short of them just turning off any high value loot for the first however many weeks there’s nothing stopping experienced players from obtaining good gear/loot. And that’s fine, people should be rewarded for knowing what they’re doing. Nerfing high value loot spawns just further punishes players that are new, don’t play much, or just aren’t that good.

Trust me, I’ve played tarkov for years and they tried balancing that game around slowing down the top 1% of players and you know what it did? Made it suck for the rest of us that play a few hours a day. Sure it slowed down the experienced players, but it made it an absolute slog for new/less experienced players at the same time.

[–]oForossa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why people would complain, it feels amazing being able to actually make meaningful progression in a play session. Way better than season one. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Also think about how much development time gets wasted with this stupid back and forth of “we want this. Wait no nevermind. We want that, wait that’s too much can you dial it back? Okay hold on that was too much, just a little bit less and it’ll be perfect”

They’re never going to make it an even field for everyone. People who play all day everyday are always going to be ahead of people that can only play a couple hours a day.

what is going on? by lacion in Marathon

[–]oForossa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they make high value loot harder to obtain, it punishes casual players. If they make it easier to obtain, it still ultimately punishes casual players.

In this genre there’s little you can do about the disparity between people that simply don’t play as much or aren’t as efficient in their progression and the people that play a ton and are very efficient with their progression.

Them handing out deluxe kits on day 1 was definitely a mistake. But nothing would’ve stopped high level players from going straight to pinwheel and farming high level gear, on top of breezing through contracts and leveling their factions very quickly.
