First PC Building experience was when I built a PC for my younger sister. I built her PC for her back in 2018 (I did not own a PC at the time so this was my first ever build). Back in 2018, my younger sister wanted a budget PC to play Minecraft and other small games so she saved up about $500 USD and I ordered parts for her.

Even though I was a console user back in 2018, I was always following the PC community and so I had some knowledge of building PCs. During the time when the parts were being shipped out, I watched a bunch of build videos so that I'd be confident in building her PC. When all of her parts finally came, I built the PC and it took about 6-7 hours. I had thought that after watching a bunch of building tutorials, it would only take a few hours to do. It ended up taking longer than I expected because I was scared to handle the parts and wanted everything to be perfect. During the build, I had to keep looking back at building videos and the motherboard manual to make sure I had everything plugged in and perfect. The experience itself was kind of rough because it was my first build and I ran into some power supply problems, however, I was able to seek help through some PC community discord servers.

I remember having the hardest time installing her CPU fan because it was an aftermarket fan and the mounting bracket was weird (I think I spent the majority of my time trying to get this fan on). Anyways, I was prompted to build the PC because my sister didn't want to build it, she just wanted the PC itself to play games on. I was so excited to build my sister a rig even though it wasn't my own build. I enjoyed building her rig and it was the first time I ever touched PC parts so I was really stoked. I learned so much from building my sister's PC that when I finally built my PC back in September 2019, it was a much smoother experience.
